Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 17: "Tell Me, or I'll Kill You" 🔪

Published: January 31, 2025

It was the Type 54 pistol obtained from the roulette.

In his previous life, Ye Zhongming's marksmanship had already reached the level of a senior shooter. Although this life had just begun and there were significant differences in aspects such as his physical condition and eyesight compared to his past life, his experience remained intact.

At this indoor distance, he had no reason to miss.

Bang! Bang! Bang! A series of gunshots rang out, and bullets streaked through the darkness, leaving trails of light.

Surprisingly, Ye Zhongming did not aim for the head of the Iron-Arm Zombie. When he drew the pistol, this Grade 2 zombie seemed to sense the danger and had already positioned its hard iron arm to block its only weak point, the head.

The Type 54 pistol couldn't penetrate the iron arm; at least, the eight rounds in the magazine wouldn't be enough to do so.

Ye Zhongming opted to target the knee of the Grade 2 zombie.

After evolving, Grade 2 zombies no longer moved slowly; their steps were no longer unsteady. Their strength increased, speed quickened, and they even possessed unique abilities.

However, they still had weaknesses. Except for certain zombies that fully evolved all bodily functions, they couldn't escape the limitations of human structure before reaching level five.

Joints remained their weak points.

For this Grade 2 zombie, aside from the mutated ability of the iron arm, other parts of its body could not withstand the power of a handgun at close range.

After six shots, both knees of the iron arm were shattered, causing its entire body to collapse to the ground. Zombies did not feel pain, but the iron arm, now endowed with elementary intelligence, roared in anger, feeling both rage and a hint of fear.

Ye Zhongming paused briefly before firing again. This time, two shots shattered the iron arm's other hand.

Now, the Grade 2 evolved zombie was left with only one usable iron arm and three disabled limbs!

Seeing the iron arm struggle helplessly, Ye Zhongming's tense nerves relaxed a bit.

He was really not too confident in melee combat with a Grade 2 zombie, especially since he had yet to develop immunity to the virus. He didn't want to joke with his own life so soon after his rebirth.

This somewhat underhanded method might seem a bit cowardly, but this was the apocalypse, not a martial arts arena; Ye Zhongming felt not a shred of guilt.

After discarding the empty magazine, he replaced it with one that still had three rounds left and tucked the gun back into his waist. This item could save his life in critical moments.

The Grade 2 zombie, now immobile and with only one usable iron arm, posed no further threat. Ye Zhongming circled it a few times, causing it to lose focus, then swung his axe into the back of its head, ending it.

He excavated the white Grade 2 magic crystal from the forehead of the iron arm, feeling a surge of excitement. This level of magic crystal would be quite precious for at least a few months; he never expected to find one on the first day.

Where was the nearest Grade 2 roulette? Ye Zhongming recalled that it seemed to be in a fitting room of a department store—he could search for it later. It was useless to look for it now since there weren't many Grade 2 zombies available to kill; this iron arm zombie's appearance was completely unexpected.

Ye Zhongming vaguely remembered that there used to be a powerful iron-arm zombie in the city, said to have evolved to the level of a golden-armed Grade 7. He wondered if this was it.

If it was, he could only say that this guy had poor luck in this life, encountering Ye Zhongming, who was practically overpowered.

After securing the white Grade 2 magic crystal, Ye Zhongming began to collect magic crystals from ordinary zombies. At this moment, a noise of moving desks and chairs echoed from the classroom, followed by the door slowly opening a crack, and a figure began to squeeze out from inside.

"You... are you here to rescue us?"

Ye Zhongming didn't even look up, continuing to excavate the magic crystals, saying, "Who is Teacher Park?"
