Mechanical Genius now really wanted to kill jannadrah a thousand times.
He knew himself well; Mechanical Genius was aware of his own strength while also acknowledging his shortcomings. He was neurotic, but he wasn't insane. The power of mechanical puppets lay in the fact that they were not true living beings. They possessed many traits of non-living things, such as not fearing death, being able to upgrade, repair, and modify, while also having some characteristics of living beings.
For instance, their powerful and practical skills, their precise controllability, and so on. These traits combined to make these mechanical puppets incredibly strong, capable of competing against the highest-level evolvers and their top-tier teams, even without clear distinctions in levels. Just like in the previous battle at Cloud Summit.
To be honest, when it came to face-to-face hard-hitting confrontations, Mechanical Genius was not afraid of anyone; he even liked this straightforward style. However, as he and Ye Zhongming, jannadrah, and others had lamented before, the key challenge at mountain king plateau was not direct confrontation but rather a test of luck and financial capability.
Well, he wasn't afraid of these things either. Despite his occasional wild laughter and harsh curses, Mechanical Genius was well aware that these were minor issues; he was confident he could compete with Cloud Summit until the very last round.
However, this bolt of thunder truly knocked half of his confidence away. While the mechanical puppets were powerful, they also had weaknesses, one of which was their fear of lightning attacks. It wasn't that they crumbled at the first hit—there was just a significantly lower defense against lightning attacks compared to others.
According to earlier hints from the space, if there were no Guardian Beasts or teams on the Bright Stars, they could be directly destroyed. This power wasn't to say that destruction thunder was that strong; it was simply a relative 'parameter.' In other words, this roulette test was essentially a game, and in games, not everything needed to adhere to absolute rigor.
Even so, when it fell upon a person's head, it was terrifying.
Just moments ago, Mechanical Genius had walked from Tenth Bright Star to Thirteenth Bright Star, which belonged to Great America. Before he could decide whether to purchase or pay a toll, the thunder fell.
And it came with bad luck.
Twelfth Bright Star belonged to Cloud Summit, while the Fourteenth Bright Star was his own. The thunder first struck these two stars, and in the eyes of the onlookers, they were not bolts of thunder at all but rather two thick beams of light that seemed capable of piercing through heaven and earth.
"Twelfth Bright Star has been attacked by destruction thunder; Guardian Beast severely injured."
"Fourteenth Bright Star has been attacked by destruction thunder; Guardian Beast dead, Bright Star destroyed."
These two Bright Stars were in a certain state, like increased difficulty, but that didn't apply to the thunder. The destruction of the Bright Stars was perfectly presented on the light barrier, leaving the spectators' scalps tingling.
If anyone couldn't withstand it, they would end up like this—completely annihilated.
The outcomes of the two attacked Bright Stars were different; Twelfth Star remained, while Fourteenth Star exploded. After the initial shock, everyone could understand. All the Guardian Beasts on Cloud Summit's Bright Stars had upgraded to the highest level, making them strong enough to remain unharmed under the destruction thunder.
As for Fourteenth Bright Star, Mechanical Genius knew his own situation; the Guardian Beasts he left there weren’t strong and hadn't upgraded, so they naturally couldn't withstand it and perished along with the Bright Star.
But now, he had no mood to think about these things; the impending destruction thunder was about to fall upon him.
The space had not indicated how to resist it, and there was little time for Mechanical Genius to consider his options. Instinctively, he ordered his team to disperse, then controlled a massive mechanical puppet to actively face the impending thunder.
