Ye Zhongming's speed was incredibly fast, and he had already planned what to do as he charged forward. As he approached the massive creature, he suddenly released a beam of light from the Shattered Soul Bone Staff in his hand, leaving only a small portion of his mental energy for skill usage while infusing the rest into the Soul Artifact made from an unknown ninth-level life bone.
With its lower body trapped, the fifth-level life form couldn't evade. Its massive stature might have granted it immense strength and extraordinary attack power, but it lacked agility.
In front of this creature, Ye Zhongming resembled a fly, further distracting its attention. The beam struck hard at the head of the fifth-level life form, causing even its towering body to tilt backward. Countless fragments flew out, and the two enormous meteor hammers swayed upward due to inertia before crashing back down.
Ye Zhongming felt a sense of emptiness in his body, but he knew this wasn't the time to rest. He stepped on the powerful life form's body again, using its force to leap to eye level with the fifth-level cavalry. He then shoved the Reaper Mimetic Shooter directly into the wound created by the Shattered Soul Bone Staff, executing an armor-piercing shot with the blue-grade micro-carved bullet.
After pulling the trigger, Ye Zhongming did not stop, firing shot after shot in succession.
In front of the fifth-level stone knight, Ye Zhongming indeed seemed like a fly, while the Reaper Mimetic Shooter resembled a needle.
However, Ye Zhongming was no ordinary fly, and the Reaper Mimetic Shooter was a purple-grade weapon, second only to the rainbow-colored ones. Coupled with his skills and high-level bullets, the fifth-level cavalry's head repeatedly shook backward before it shattered with a loud crack in mere seconds.
Ye Zhongming was flung away and was caught by Xia Bai, who flew in, but the force caused the leader of the red dress guard to lose her balance. In the end, both Red Hair and Xiao Min jumped into the air together, bringing the two down, but all four of them still landed unsteadily in a heap.
When they all got back on their feet, Ye Zhongming's armor was completely shattered, which pained the King of Cloud Summit immensely, as it was stained with the blood he had just spewed out.
At the very moment the fifth-level knight was killed, the creature's meteor hammers swung wildly. Although Ye Zhongming had dodged with great effort, even using teleportation, he was still swept by one.
The force resulted in his previous state.
Fortunately, it seemed everything was finally over. The fifth-level stone cavalry had turned into a pile of rubble, and no higher-level monsters were formed. It appeared that this trial was concluded.
Everyone let out a sigh of relief and began tending to the injured. Thankfully, the warriors of Cloud Summit were high-level and well-equipped. Although some were severely wounded, there were no additional casualties, which was good news from this battle.
Including Ye Zhongming, everyone took a moment to rest, recovering their physical and mental strength as well as their injuries. Dozens of individuals would be unable to fight for several days due to serious wounds, and combined with the soldiers who had fallen, nearly one-tenth of Cloud Summit's combat power was lost.
Facing the unknown ahead, everyone’s confidence had dropped significantly compared to the beginning.
Ye Zhongming, the highest level and strongest among them, was the first to recover. When he stood up, he noticed his father sitting nearby with a bewildered expression, waiting.
This time, all members of his father's team had died, leaving only this leader who regarded his team as children.
Ye Zhongming understood the man's feelings at this moment.
“Perhaps we really shouldn’t have followed.” When Ye Zhongming woke, his father softly spoke. The King of Cloud Summit didn’t know how to comfort him, so he handed him a pack of cigarettes, recalling that his father had this habit.
