Doomsday Roulette

Chapter 151: Fountain of Endurance đź’Ş

Published: February 5, 2025

At this moment, behind the horde of zombies, two figures that had become extremely bizarre and no longer resembled humans were watching the battlefield from a distance. Behind them stood a grade 3 hundred-handed zombie and a grade 3 mutated python.

“It’s… it’s him…”

Dressed in black like a ghost, with a voice as hoarse as sand, even in the daylight of early morning, it sounded chilling.

“What a… beautiful… scent.” In Captain Ye's pitch-black eyes, a strange red light flickered as his gaze locked onto Ye Zhongming, who was fighting alone against the hordes.

“Eh!”

The person beside Captain Ye suddenly uttered a question, their ghostly face lifting as they struggled to sniff the air.

“I... I... smell... another... delicacy.”

This unknown creature turned and looked in a certain direction, where, far away on top of a tall building, a shadow seemed to be standing.

“That... there!”

“You... that... I... this.”

“Good!”

After exchanging words with that person, Captain Ye’s companion patted the forehead of the giant python, which had already grown a section of black horn. The powerful grade 3 mutated life immediately bowed its head respectfully. The person jumped onto the python's body, which was as thick as a barrel, and wrapped their arms around its neck. The thirty-meter-long giant python swiftly swam towards the direction of the building.

Captain Ye did not pay attention to the departing companion but continued to fix his gaze on Ye Zhongming, whispering difficult words from his black lips.

“You... you are... mine.”

A line-like object twisted beneath his skin.

………………………………………………………………………………………………

Ye Zhongming jumped back to avoid an attack from a grade 2 zombie, then with the edge of the moon, he slashed out like lightning, directly cutting the zombie in half.

At this moment, his body was covered in the foul-smelling blood of zombies, making him look as if he had been pulled out from a sea of blood. Yet, he stood there like a living war god, with no zombies or mutated creatures able to break through his defenses to reach the ruins above.

As a two-star evolver, Ye Zhongming, who had injected a modified Evolution Potion, wielded the white-level weapon, edge of the moon, granting him strength that far exceeded these zombies and mutated lives. As long as he did not face any physical issues, he could almost stand there indefinitely against such intense attacks.

However, high-intensity combat and the constant effort involved in wielding weapons consumed tremendous stamina.

It was like running; when you sprint with all your might, you might only last a few seconds before your speed slows down. If you can keep it up for half a minute, you would feel weak and panting, with your legs giving way when you finally stop.

But if you jog, you could maintain a steady pace for dozens of minutes.

This was the difference; fighting with all one's strength, especially against inhuman monsters, had a massive toll on physical stamina. Even with the rapid secretion of adrenaline to support him, an ordinary person could not last long.

Evolvers were stronger than ordinary people, but they still had their limits. Ye Zhongming needed to maintain this state for half an hour!

This was a significant test of his physical endurance.

Moreover, he couldn’t exhaust all his stamina within that half hour because unknown dangers lurked nearby, and Ye Zhongming had to stay vigilant.

Yet Ye Zhongming still pursed his lips, exerting all his strength with the edge of the moon; every slash released the aura of full power, cutting down all enemies within range.

“Five more minutes!”

Such combat and such physical exertion left the survivors on the ruins parched and dry. Each person, including Li Qiang, felt the same sensation in their hearts.

This guy is not human.

He truly isn’t human. Even if he is a two-star evolver, how can he be this strong? In this level of combat, where he continuously moved his body, raised his shield, and swung weapons every moment, he managed to hold out for seven or eight minutes without showing any signs of fatigue!
