Chapter: Two in One
Not only Ye Zhongming was tired, but so was Li Daqian.
He had been busy with the activities related to this event, while also managing the daily operations of the villa. Even as an evolver, physical fatigue could be managed, but mental exhaustion was inevitable. Today, he had gone through a series of events involving betrayal, battles, and transactions. To make matters worse, his son was severely injured and unconscious, leaving Li Daqian utterly drained.
After parting ways with Ye Zhongming, he stayed by Li Zhi Chong's bedside for a while before heading to the neighboring room to sleep. Tomorrow, he needed to send off these people and discuss some important matters; he forced himself to remain in good spirits. As for his son, after calming down, Li Daqian considered it a good thing that he was still alive. He would think about how to wake him later.
However, Li Daqian hadn’t slept long before he was called awake. Glancing at the sky, he noticed it was just beginning to brighten.
Feeling frustrated, he asked what had happened, but his subordinate hesitated and couldn’t explain clearly, only saying that he would understand if he went to see for himself.
Li Daqian cursed under his breath and walked toward the location his subordinate mentioned. Upon arriving, he was taken aback.
Before him lay a vast area occupied by various undead creatures.
Skeleton warriors, skeleton dogs, zombies, dark souls, ghosts, bone birds, corpse tigers…
Just from a quick visual assessment, there were no fewer than three thousand undead lifeforms!
Could it be that some undead practitioners had summoned an army of undead?
But this should be… the temporary station of Cloud Summit Villa, right?
He didn’t hear any sounds of battle. With Ye Zhongming’s strength, it was impossible for him to be quietly overwhelmed by these undead forces!
As Li Daqian contemplated what to do, he noticed a group of people walking out from the undead army—it was Ye Zhongming and his red dress guard.
After greeting each other, Li Daqian looked at the swarm of undead lifeforms, puzzled.
Ye Zhongming awkwardly scratched his nose.
He hadn’t anticipated that the huge rift he had neglected would suddenly unleash so many undead lifeforms.
When he first woke up, he was similarly startled. But after thinking it over, he understood.
The number and speed of undead lifeforms summoned by the undead rift were related to the evolution level, mental strength, and the power of the attack that created the rift. Given Ye Zhongming’s vast mental strength, it was understandable that thousands of undead lifeforms could crawl out.
After explaining briefly, Ye Zhongming expressed his intent to take his leave.
Li Daqian observed the thousands of undead behind and speculated that Ye Zhongming must have tested some new equipment yesterday, resulting in this situation. However, he believed that this summoning equipment was too powerful. Although these undead forces did not represent any magic crystal levels, from what he sensed, they must possess strength equivalent to at least fourth or fifth-level mutated life.
After silently marveling at Ye Zhongming’s strength, Li Daqian led him to the villa’s beast pen, allowing him to choose the battle beasts they had previously agreed upon as gifts.
Ye Zhongming took a tour around the beast pen, realizing that this wasn’t a place for cultivating high-level battle beasts like those in Ten Thousand Beast Manor; the highest evolution level here was only fourth-level battle beasts.
He chose a few, mainly the types needed by the Cloud Summit Laboratory, including dozens of flying battle beasts. The rest were heavy-lifting types that could serve as laborers on the way back. These battle beasts were a small gain from this trip to Ten Thousand Beast Manor.
He should have taken his leave afterward, but Li Daqian insisted on taking Ye Zhongming to another place. Ye Zhongming, puzzled, followed him to the deepest part of Ten Thousand Beast Manor. After passing through a secret passage, they entered a secluded valley.
