"Thank you to my sister and all the book friends for their generous tips in a short time, as well as to my brothers Cao Xiao Jian and Kong Dao Kong for their contributions, and to Zhang Zeweitong for frequently tipping these days. Of course, thanks to the support from QQ Reading and others."
In the apocalypse, the environment changed the most, apart from humans.
There was no more excessive mining, no harmful gas emissions, no pollution of water and soil, and no reckless tampering with nature under the idea of humans conquering it.
After the Earth had spun effortlessly for over three years, the original ecological landscape began to dominate the planet.
Human footprints, though still widespread across the world, had long ceased to be synonymous with destruction.
Nature had gained the upper hand, gradually pushing even the superhumans amongst humans out of some areas.
Cold Bay Rainforest was one such place.
Unlike the Amazon's floodplain forests, Cold Bay Rainforest was a wetland forest on flat land.
Once, due to the fertile land here, human development had taken place over the years. However, the development was relatively late and focused on environmental tourism and agriculture, so the natural environment of Cold Bay Rainforest had suffered little degradation.
After the apocalypse, the numerous plants and animals living here began to mutate, and the few humans and zombies were quickly eradicated.
For almost a year or two at the beginning of the apocalypse, this place was almost undisturbed, with mutated animals and plants evolving through love and conflict.
Until one day, a team of explorers ventured a certain distance into this area and discovered some formula materials that were very marketable among human evolvers.
Thus, expedition teams began to continually enter the area to seize its wealth.
However, humans were no longer the masters of the Earth; mutated life forms were.
Human evolvers continuously entered Cold Bay Rainforest and kept dying there. So far, explorations here had not made significant progress but had instead encountered severe setbacks.
Even a seven-star evolver had died inside.
Under these circumstances, Ye Zhongming led the red dress guard and an avoidance action team deep into the rainforest.
“At first, a branch was discovered to be the main raw material for the ‘Lightening Agent.’ Its main function was to reduce the effects of gravity, so although this agent wasn't too expensive, it was very popular due to its significant effects. There were quite a number of formulas, and many manufacturing professionals acquired them, so the supply was relatively ample. The price wasn't expensive but also not cheap, and with such a large volume, the profits were considerable.”
As Zhao Xiangxue walked alongside Ye Zhongming in the rainforest, she introduced the situation. The intelligence team had prepared detailed materials upon learning that Ye Zhongming would be coming personally, which they handed over to Zhao Xiangxue.
“Mulberry Sandalwood Tree?”
Zhao Xiangxue was momentarily taken aback, “Brother, do you already know all this?”
Ye Zhongming shook his head.
He was naturally familiar with the Lightening Agent; before his rebirth, it was one of the essential agents for every evolver. Taking a vial before battle had immediate effects. If Ye Zhongming remembered correctly, this agent's formula in the future wasn’t rare, the raw materials were abundant, and it was considered low-priced. There was even a laboratory that improved the agent, extending its efficacy significantly.
Looking at Ye Zhongming with some suspicion, Zhao Xiangxue continued her introduction, “Besides the Mulberry Sandalwood Tree, many other items usable by evolvers have been discovered here, such as the ‘Wonder Mushroom,’ ‘Three-Day Grass,’ and ‘Nail Red Water Bug,’ which drew many adventurers here.”
With a snap, a small battle beast that resembled a squirrel suddenly flicked its long tongue out from a female warrior of the red dress guard, striking a nearby tree trunk. As everyone looked on, they saw that the trunk, which had been completely inconspicuous, suddenly oozed a greenish pus. Then, a mutated life form, no longer than a finger, slowly crept out of the bark and thudded onto the ground, revealing a black magic crystal on its belly.
