CHAPTER TEXT:

"Not an airdrop, not a teleport, and no one infiltrated; it just appeared here so mysteriously."

In front of a pile of items, Xia Lei was discussing the origins of these things with Ye Zhongming, her brows tightly knitted, clearly unhappy.

Regardless of who sent these items, it proved that Cloud Summit Villa's defense system was ineffective. This was undoubtedly a blow to Xia Lei, who had always taken pride in the villa's construction.

Ye Zhongming patted his woman's shoulder, offering a slight comfort.

After inquiring about the timing, he basically confirmed that this was the reward distribution from the Tarros Red Dwarf.

On their way back, the Meng Ao they had captured also disappeared, along with the already damaged Demonic Scorpion Crystal Armor.

The time of disappearance was almost the same as when these items appeared.

Like Xia Lei, Ye Zhongming felt a deep apprehension towards the methods of these Cosmic Races, but he did not show it. He knew that due to some rules, these celestial beings could only engage in such tricks for the time being.

The only regret was that he had intended to bring the Demonic Scorpion Crystal Armor back for Le Da Yuan to study, but now it seemed that wish could not be fulfilled.

What they referred to as a "pile of items" actually consisted of two boxes, one large and one small. The large one was roughly the size of a computer desk, while the small one resembled a shoebox.

Ye Zhongming first opened the smaller box, which contained a scroll—an equipment upgrade scroll, of blue grade.

He glanced at it and set it aside; although rare, Ye Zhongming had seen it before.

What interested him was the other box, which, as expected, contained ore.

Kohen Ore, one unit.

Looking at a piece of round, oddly colored metal in the box, Ye Zhongming's previous confusion returned.

Why would there be such a clearly non-Earth metal among the rewards? Was there some deeper meaning behind it?

"Boss, it weighs exactly one hundred kilograms, not more, not less," reported a researcher from the magic crystal weapon laboratory.

It seemed that one unit equaled one hundred kilograms.

Ye Zhongming tried to cut it with a green dagger but was unsuccessful. He paused, switched to Wind and Thunder Twin Birth, and finally split the spherical metal in two.

He handed one piece to Le Da Yuan for study and kept the other for himself.

Le Da Yuan's piece would require various instruments and laboratory experiments, taking some time, but Ye Zhongming's piece did not need that. He began to chop the Kohen Ore into many small pieces and started trying to forge it using his artisan profession.

However, the results disappointed him. This ore could not merge with the equipment, let alone enhance any attributes.

Ye Zhongming then attempted to enhance the small chunks of Kohen Ore with each other, but it still didn't work; these metal clumps completely refused to cooperate.

At this point, Ye Zhongming found himself at a loss with these metals, having no choice but to wait for the laboratory to see if they could research anything.

Despite the lack of progress in exploring the Kohen Ore, Ye Zhongming was not overly disappointed. After Ghost Gold could be "cultivated," his desire for this manufacturing additive was not strong. Ghost Gold was already good enough.

He raised his wrist, where a light blue watch rested—not an equipment piece, but the communicator that had transformed from the Tarros Red Dwarf's gift.

Ye Zhongming was surprised by this transformation, but what intrigued him more was how to operate this watch now.

After a few taps, a virtual screen appeared before him.

Ye Zhongming examined it closely and felt that the content on it resembled a "database."

The meaning of "database" is broad; at least with Ye Zhongming's current permissions, he could see several sections.

One was a question set aspect.

This part was simple; it resembled a search function, but not every query would yield an answer each time.

It seemed this was designed to help the agents better understand their identities.
