CHAPTER TEXT:

Regardless of whether it was King Hongxiang or Mo Ye, the two responsible for commanding the city wall felt a sense of unease for the first time.

The Temple of Dawn had previously launched sieges, and to some extent, had broken through the city walls. Some of the tactics used during that time caught the posthumous child and Cloud Summit Villa coalition off guard.

However, back then, the kings and the Cloud Summit people did not panic; they understood that everyone was fighting desperately, and in the end, victory depended merely on who was more willing to sacrifice.

The Temple of Dawn had a retreat, but the posthumous children were fighting with their backs against the wall. The outcome was clear: whoever was willing to fight to the death would prevail.

No one doubted the enemy's strength, but they also knew they had to be even more resolute.

Because the Royal City was the Holy City, it was the divine hall in the hearts of the posthumous children, inviolable, and hence everyone would fight to protect it. Unless the very space collapsed, an irreversible situation, even if the posthumous children were transported to Earth, this place would remain their root.

However, this belief wavered with the arrival of the Holy Father.

The oppressive power of a ninth level expert brought overwhelming advantages. This unbeatable image inevitably dampened the morale of the posthumous children, and now, with these tactics being employed, the despondency was magnified infinitely. Even the commanders felt extremely uneasy, let alone the ordinary soldiers.

The brief chaos of the defensive mechanisms on the city wall was the best proof of this.

"We can't let them succeed! We mustn't!" A voice suddenly rang out. Everyone looked toward it; a seventh level clan leader of a posthumous child clan was shouting hoarsely. His eyes were bloodshot as he watched the Top Red coming from the sky, inflicting massive damage on the posthumous child and Cloud Summit coalition. Seeing his own side's morale dwindling, the clan leader was enraged.

"What if they're ninth level? Have the Temple of Dawn just recently gained a ninth level expert? In history, haven’t their ninth level experts attacked us before? They have! But did they succeed? No! They have never conquered the Royal City! So, children, what are you afraid of?!"

The clan leader’s voice was already torn. He jumped onto the city wall, disregarding the intensifying attacks from outside, speaking to the posthumous children. Only his voice echoed on the wall.

"Today, many of us will die, but our enemies will too. But I believe, when our enemies are all dead, there will still be some of us alive! When our enemies are all dead, it will surely include their Holy Father!"

The airflow around the clan leader erupted, deflecting some of the long-range attacks, but some could not be blocked and struck his body, causing him to bleed profusely.

"I don’t know what these iron chains are, but I can feel the tremors in the walls. The flames just now have made our survival wall extremely fragile. Without the magical repair mud from our friends on Earth, it might have collapsed by now."

The clan leader pounded his chest and said, "Our friends on Earth have already done enough for us. I don’t know how many have lain to rest on this unfamiliar land to them. Just now, they helped us once again, and in the future, they will help us even more. Now is the time for us to do something for them!"

"Children, who is willing to follow me to cut these iron chains? Then come with me!"

With this shout at the top of his lungs, the clan leader jumped off the city wall. Holding the Silver Edge of the Moon produced by Cloud Summit, he brought it down with the momentum of his fall, slicing through a large area before finally striking the nearest iron chain below him.

The warriors on the city wall looked down in astonishment, even the attacking soldiers from the Temple of Dawn were momentarily stunned. They had never seen such reckless bravery.
