Ye Zhongming glanced at the mutated creature that had already been nearly drained of all its blood, with a significant portion of its flesh consumed, and shook his head.
The woman immediately lowered her head in disappointment. “You don’t want it?”
At that moment, the Lone Gatherer with the injured arm stood up, holding a bloody piece of flesh and walking towards Ye Zhongming while trying to offer it to him.
Ye Zhongming focused on the piece of meat as if he hadn’t eaten in a long time.
A strange glint appeared in that person's eyes, and suddenly the piece of meat jumped in his hand. The magic crystal that had been used for illumination shot straight towards Ye Zhongming's face at high speed, producing a faint whistling sound.
The other individuals gasped, clearly surprised that this person would launch an attack. At such a close distance, there was no way to dodge it.
What astonished them was that the seemingly unprepared young man effortlessly swatted the magic crystal away as if it were a fly.
Then, a flash of blood occurred as a white dagger sliced across this man's throat.
His still functional hand desperately covered his neck, but the wound had nearly severed half of it, and blood gushed like rain, impossible to stop.
The man fell backward in disbelief, his gaze trying to capture the figure of his killer, but in an instant, his light faded.
Ye Zhongming looked at the remaining individuals.
He wanted to calmly obtain the information he sought, but that didn’t mean he would tolerate everything, especially an attack against himself.
In this life, particularly after establishing the Cloud Summit Villa, he had rarely taken personal action to kill.
Because he no longer needed to kill personally. His decisions, even a single word, represented the lives and deaths of countless individuals.
But that didn't mean he wouldn’t kill. It was his instinct; as long as someone directly threatened Ye Zhongming’s life, he would act without hesitation and without mercy.
What he needed to do now was eliminate these accomplices.
“Wait, wait.”
Having drunk the blood of the Double-Mouthed Stone Ox, the captain's injuries had somewhat healed. He waved his hand urgently at Ye Zhongming, “He, and us, are not together.”
Ye Zhongming sneered, but in his heart, he remained skeptical.
“We know each other, but we usually don’t hang out together.”
The woman explained, raising her steel spike in a defensive posture against Ye Zhongming.
This actually made Ye Zhongming believe them a bit more.
These people thought he was also a four-star evolver, so in a three-to-one situation, even if someone was injured, they wouldn't fear him. The reason for their explanation could indeed mean that the person was not regularly with them.
This made Ye Zhongming halt his steps.
“I just arrived and need to know some information,” Ye Zhongming stated, “Tell me what I want to know, and this ox will belong to you.”
Such a transaction would be immensely tempting for those struggling to survive here. Ye Zhongming’s earlier display of strength also prevented them from trying to hoard the prey for themselves.
In this cramped mine, sometimes cooperation was far more meaningful than mutual harm.
The three individuals quickly began to disassemble the Double-Mouthed Stone Ox, discarding what couldn't be eaten and taking all the meat along with the magic crystal.
“Don’t you want those shells?”
To Ye Zhongming, aside from the magic crystal, the most valuable parts of this monster were the triangular shells on its sides.
“Not useful.”
Another man straightforwardly replied, burdening two large pieces of meat on his back without caring about getting his clothes stained with blood, dismissing the two items that Ye Zhongming considered most valuable.
Ye Zhongming shook his head inwardly. Although the materials from the Cloud Summit were not much, outside, they were genuinely valuable and easily tradable at a good price.
He walked over to inspect the two shells; they were definitely excellent templates for crafting armor. Throwing them away made even Ye Zhongming feel a bit pained. He tore strips from the clothes of the man he had killed, tied them around the two shells, and hauled them along to catch up with the three individuals.
