This is Satou. In manga and dramas, situations where allies are misled by false information and end up fighting each other aren’t uncommon, right? In fiction, they usually realize the truth before things get too bad, but in reality, it often breaks down completely.

“The former hero’s attendant, Blume Jureberg, demands a duel with hero Nameless.”
Ms. Blume declared this to me, sword drawn and pointed my way.
We had come to the largest Purple Tower in the world near the old capital of the Saga Empire, facing the hero party who were handling a stampede in front of the tower.
Apparently, the god Parion had issued a divine oracle to the heroes: “A great traitor endangering the world’s peace. Defeat hero Nameless, the incarnation of the demon god.”
I asked Hikaru, but she had not received any divine oracle.
Time was tight now; perhaps I should just put them to sleep with sleep magic and move ahead, sorting out the misunderstanding later?
As I was thinking that, several shadows stood between me and Ms. Blume, as if to protect me.
“Hey, little girl, what do you think you’re doing?”
“My wild intuition says this Nameless is the real deal.”
“Besides, Nameless and the golden guys have saved us many times.”
The ones who interrupted were Russus of the tiger ear tribe and Fifi of the wolf ear tribe, attendants of hero Hayato.
“Quarreling in the face of a world crisis isn’t justice.”
“…Loleiya. Even you, a priest serving god Parion?”
“I don’t have the divine oracle skill, but I believe I can discern whether someone is evil or not.”
Priest Loleiya stood in line with Russus and Fifi.
“W-wait!”
“Leaving aside Russus and Fifi, even you, Loleiya?!”
Seeing that, heroes Seigi and Yuuki panicked.
“What do you mean ‘leaving aside us’?”
“Is this your way of repaying us for training you anew in the tower?”
Russus and Fifi glared at the two heroes.
“B-because! It’s not just the divine oracle!”
Hero Seigi stepped forward.
“The unique skills taught me. It says he is ‘evil.’… Hero Nameless is evil, without a doubt.”
Seigi pleaded with a tearful smile.
The three attendants slightly faltered at his tearful plea.
—Apparently, I am considered evil.
Just as I thought that, I felt a tap on my shoulder through the clan communication; it was Arisa.
‘—That can’t be true.’
I could almost hear Arisa’s voice.
“Hero Seigi, what is your standard for defining ‘evil’?”
“Huh? Standard?”
Seigi looked surprised by Arisa’s question.
“My unique skill told me. He is ‘evil.’”
“So, from god Parion’s perspective, (……) he is ‘evil,’ right?”
Arisa, who had anticipated Seigi’s words, nodded once and then argued that the judgment of good and evil was not impartial but subjective to god Parion.
“I see, so that’s it.”
“You get it, Russus!”
“Of course! ‘If god says he’s evil, then he’s evil!’”
“I see!”
Russus and Fifi were having this conversation, but everyone politely ignored it.
Well, Pochi, Tama, and Miss Karina were all nodding enthusiastically.
‘Now, Master, you mentioned that god Parion might have guided the theft of the demon god’s divine power crystal.’
‘No, that’s still just a hypothesis.’
It’s almost black, but still gray.
It’s a conjecture based on circumstantial evidence, with no proof or testimony.
“Sorry to keep you waiting! Things seem to have gotten complicated.”
“Loleiya, please briefly explain what happened.”
The two who arrived on a flying carousel were Miss Ringlande, attendant of hero Hayato, and Princess Merryest.
“There was a divine oracle that hero Nameless is a pawn of the demon god.”
““—I see.””
The two nodded at Loleiya’s brief words.
“Ms. Blume, could you please put your sword away?”
“Miss Ringlande, are you siding with that guy too?”
“Well, yes. Hayato told me so, and more importantly, fighting him here would be meaningless.”
“—Meaningless?”
Ms. Blume frowned at Ringlande’s words.
“If hero Nameless really wanted to fight, there would be three corpses here by now.”
