This time, it’s from Princess Sistina’s perspective.
“Princess Sistina!”
A brownie, who is in charge of piloting the airship, came to call us in the living room of the Isolated Island Palace.
“We’re almost above Rumork City.”
“The airship really is fast, isn’t it?”
I returned to the airship together with Lady Mia and Lady Karina.
Right as we swapped places, Lulu came into the room carrying some baked goods with a pleasant aroma.
“Are Liza and Nana training?”
“Nana is at school, but Liza said she’s ‘sparring’ with Heilong.”
Come to think of it, Nana said she attends school together with Pochi and Tama.
Liza is training with the black dragon Heilong in one of Satou’s otherworlds.
Hearing that a dragon, a warrior species, can be fought by a human — no matter how many times I hear it, even knowing the fact that she is a demon king slayer — I still find it unbelievable.
Maybe Liza could even win against the Demon King?
“If necessary, shall I go as well?”
Lulu’s sniping skills are excellent, but she’s not very suited for fighting a large group of pirates.
Besides, Satou doesn’t seem to want Lulu fighting on a human battlefield.
With Lady Mia’s spirit magic, we can handle almost anything unless a Demon King appears, and close combat is fine with Laka and Lady Karina around.
If Lady Sera, who freely uses healing magic, were here, maintaining our allies’ frontlines would be easier, but she’s currently busy with Arisa planning a wedding, so she’s not here.
“No, it’s alright.”
When I shook my head, Lulu obediently nodded and handed the baked goods as a gift for Satou to Lady Mia.

“What’s that?”
In a corner of cloudy Rumork City, I saw something like a black thread.
“It’s smoke! The central temple is on fire!”
Although the distance meant it could only be seen through the distant viewing tube, Lady Karina apparently could see it with the naked eye.
“Hmm?”
“Lady Mia, what’s wrong?”
From the direction the cute finger pointed, new black smoke rose.
Then one after another, black smoke appeared above Rumork City.
“It must be pirate henchmen causing trouble!”
After Lady Karina said that, she rolled up her sleeves and said, “We must punish them.”
They must be the so-called terror(ist)s Arisa mentioned earlier.
“Set the airship to optical camouflage mode and land at the central temple.”
“Yes, Princess Sistina.”
“Lady Mia, is it alright to leave the fire extinguishing to you?”
“Mm, leave it to me.”
Lady Mia nodded with eyes full of wisdom.
Cute and dependable — as expected of the elf lady from the Forest of Boruenan.
While we talked, the airship landed in the courtyard in front of the central temple.
I disembarked, and Lady Karina followed.
“I shall accompany you as well.”
“No, Lady Karina, please guard Lady Mia.”
“No need.”
Lady Mia shook her head, showing my worry was unnecessary.
“For my protection, golems are—”
“Miasma.”
Lady Mia interrupted me.
As a forest fairy, Lady Mia can see spirits invisible to us.
And since spirits avoid places with foul miasma, Lady Mia can tell where the miasma is thick, Arisa had said.
“Lady Mia, monsters?”
“No, defilement.”
“Defilement… is that undead?”
“Yes.”
I see — as expected of Lady Mia.
Golems are strong against humans and monsters, but they are at a disadvantage against non-corporeal undead.
So that’s probably why she asked Lady Karina to come along.
“Then Lady Karina, will you accompany me?”
“—Huh? Yes, of course!”
Lady Karina was momentarily surprised, but quickly agreed to accompany me.
The airship that dropped us off rose back into the sky.
It was to allow Lady Mia to extinguish the fire from above with her magic.
◇
“—Lady Karina, that!”
The tiara on Lady Karina’s forehead, emitting a blue glow — the intelligent magical artifact Laka — gave a warning.
There was a corpse, shriveled to a soil color, lying in the corridor of the central temple.
