Chapter 554: Land King Subjugation Battle ⚔️

Satou here. Presentation is important. The way something is shown can greatly change the viewers’ impression. Occasionally seen on TV, but staging something yourself backfires when found out, so it’s a forbidden move.

“Master, danger is imminent,” warned.

Particles of light gathered in the wide-open mouth of the Land King.

That’s probably the prelude to a breath attack. Its target is likely the Royal Castle.

“Right. Let’s go help.”

I moved with my companions to the top of the tower along the line connecting the Royal Castle and the Land King.

“Master!”

As the teleportation completed, Liza’s voice carried urgency.

Her gaze fixed on the Land King’s middle head, which was just about to unleash a breath.

Liza infused the demon blade into her demonic spear, ready to fire a massive demon blade cannon at any moment.

Nana lit up a magic circle on her forehead, beginning to prepare her logic arts.

“Leave it to me—”

I gripped the “golden sword Heralsauf” we recovered earlier from the sand sea.

The sword alone matches the performance of the Divinely Bestowed Holy Swords held by the heroes.

Sacred verses are inscribed on the hilt, apparently saying “Glory to God Heralon” in divine era language.

I don't really care about the glory of gods, but I’ll give it a try.

“Glory to God Heralon.”

I channeled magic power and recited the sacred verse; the sunstone at the sword’s base shone brightly.

It seemed to grant support effects like increased reaction speed and physical ability, which were added to my status panel.

That was fine, but—

] “The golden sword demands life force.”

—An alarming message appeared in the log, ending with a yes/no choice.

If it just drained stamina or health, that’d be one thing, but it would be troublesome if it started draining lifespan or soul energy.

I quickly chose “No” and decided not to use the golden sword Heralsauf’s full power.

—GWAMWUEEEEEE.

A dark red beam-shaped breath blasted from the Land King’s mouth.

“Secret ultimate technique—‘Solar Flash Sword’!”

I shouted the name of the finishing move used by the sword saints and unleashed my imitation version.

Golden light blades shot from the sword and collided fiercely with the Land King’s breath in midair.

The light blades scattered intense flashes and sparks as they vertically sliced the breath, reaching the Land King’s forehead.

But the light blades, weakened by the breath, barely shattered the Land King’s defensive barrier and inflicted only a small wound on its forehead.

The breath, torn by the Solar Flash Sword’s blades, headed toward us and the Royal Capital.

“After all, cannon-type techniques aren’t suited for intercepting continuously discharged attacks.”

I held the golden sword steadily. In front of me, the breath was sliced into harmless particles and vanished.

This wasn’t swordsmanship but spatial magic—the isolation wall (délassinate) and dimensional slash “dimension slasher.”

From afar, it would look like my golden sword Heralsauf was doing the slicing.

The success of that ruse was confirmed by cheers from people in the castle and those evacuating to the high ground.

With the people’s attention gathered, it was time for a performance to boost faith in God Heralon.

“My name is Pendragon! By the majesty of God Heralon and the Divinely Bestowed Holy Sword 'Golden Sword Heralsauf,' I shall vanquish the ancient monster, Land King!”

Using wind magic along with a loudspeaker skill, I broadcast to the people of the Sania Kingdom.

For stage effect, I made the sword shine golden with light magic.

“Wooaaaahhhh!”

“God Heralon! God Heralon! God Heralon!”

“Pendragon! Penragon! Pengoradon!”

The cheers shook the Royal Capital.

Many voices mispronounced my name, but thankfully no one got God Heralon’s name wrong.

—GWAMWUEEEEEE.

I don’t think it was because of the cheers, but the Land King roared in anger.

I thought it would attack with earth magic, but it was actually using earth magic to boost its own defenses.
