Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Chapter 291: SS: Tricks to Enjoy Food Stalls 🍢

※This is not from Satou’s perspective (it’s Arisa’s perspective)

This is my second post today.

Edited typos on 2/11.

Liza’s recommendation is definitely way too heavy.

On the way, I took along a little girl maid from the mansion where I was running errands and tried conquering some sweets.

“There’s nothing really that delicious, huh.”

“Really? Everything tastes good to me, I’m happy.”

The labyrinth honey candy was a little tasty, but once you get used to the cheat-like Master’s sweets, these feel kind of mediocre. This is a dangerous sign.

“Arisa-chan, look at that.”

The little girl maid walking beside me tugged my sleeve, and when I looked over, Pochi and Tama were among the children near the meat skewer stand, opening and closing their mouths.

What are they doing?

“Pochi, Tama, what are you two doing?”

“Arisa~”

“Arisa! I’ve made a discovery! When you sniff the delicious smell from the stand and open and close your mouth along with the people eating the skewers, you feel like you’re eating too!”

Pochi explained enthusiastically, and I just couldn’t help but sigh.

“Is it fun?”

“Of course~”

“It’s super fun!”

I see~ it’s fun~ But I’m going to say this without reading the atmosphere.

“Hey.”

“What~?”

“What’s wrong?”

“Why don’t you just buy some meat skewers and eat them normally?”

You two got allowance from Master, right?

“Ah!” “That’s right!”

Seeing the money they pulled out from their pouches, I started trembling inside.

“Biting frenzy~?”

“It’s a biting frenzy!”

No, I don’t understand what that means.

“How many do you think~?”

“You each got about one gold coin, right? You could buy around 100 skewers.”

“Hyah, 100 skewers?! You can’t possibly eat that many?”

“If you eat too much, Lulu won’t be able to have her dinner, so be careful.”

“Ai~”

“That’s right!”

The two of them struck a cute ‘Shta!’ pose, then charged the meat skewer stand, scaring the old vendor, before buying frog meat skewers in bulk. Looks like my earlier warning went in one ear and out the other.

No, no, even for you two, that amount is impossible, right?

“Line up~”

“One skewer each!”

Ah, so they’re handing them out to the kids who were watching with us.

The children who received the skewers were all thanking Pochi and Tama. The two seemed unusually embarrassed, maybe because it tickled them.

Surrounded by about ten kids, the two were happily eating the grilled skewers.

Of course, the little girl maid also jumped in and joined the feast.

That kid sure knows how to take advantage.

“Yummy yummy~”

“After all, freshly grilled is the strongest!”

“Delicious, right?”

“Yeah, not as tough as black meat either.”

Ah, Pochi and Tama have greasy skewer drippings all over their chests.

Now I understand why Lulu told me to wear a cheap commoner’s dress.

That child is really starting to become motherly.

“I’ll give some to you too, Arisa.”

“No, I’ll pass.”

“Don’t refuse~?”

It’s not refusal. My waist has been feeling a bit tight for a while.

“I’ve been eating so many sweets already, if I eat more—”

“Dieting~?”

Ah, the hardships flashing through my mind like a revolving lantern!

I absolutely cannot go through that again. No way!

“Are you really sure you don’t want some?”

“It’s so delicious~”

Don’t tempt me~

I grabbed the little girl maid’s hand and ran full speed away from there.

Because I really hate dieting!

This was supposed to be the first episode in the trilogy about buying food, but I completely forgot to post it.
