I’m Satou. It’s tough to make others believe in something you don’t believe in yourself.
Just a little further to the exit.
I really want to get back to everyday life soon.
â—‡
“The exit is probably ahead. There are two reasons: first, there are demons here that we’ve never seen before. Second, the number of enemies is clearly different from before.”
That’s a weak reason to be so certain.
“…I don’t understand why that proves the exit is ahead.”
“Shouldn’t we look for a detour, as that demi-human suggests?”
Makes sense… But, this is my turn!
“Viscount, aren’t you forgetting? This is a labyrinth made by demons. They would place their minions where they don’t want us to go.”
Damn, I should have used that as my reasoning.
“But we’re outnumbered. I don’t think we can win against such a large horde by ourselves.”
Yeah, I agree.
“Of course, I do see a chance of victory… and that’s thanks to the Viscount’s magic.”
I haven’t seen it once until now, but the Flame Magic Storm the Viscount used against demons earlier at the castle square was spectacular. It should provide enough cover.
Oh, they probably don’t know about the Viscount’s magic skill yet.
“As you know, undead tribes are weak to fire. Also, I’ve heard the Viscount is one of the top flame magic users in the Count’s Domain.”
“Yes, I’m the deputy captain of the magic soldiers.”
The Viscount doesn’t seem displeased. Is he Zena’s superior?
“Viscount, for planning our tactics, may I ask how many times you can cast Flame Magic Storm?”
“It’s limited to once. After casting Flame Magic Storm, it’s best to block the entrance with a pillar of flame and wait for the bones to burn.”
I see, it’s a magic with poor efficiency.
It’s convenient how the discussion has shifted towards fighting.
While the Viscount’s Flame Magic Storm fills the field of vision, we can wipe out the enemies with our small coin attacks.
] “Acquired tactical skill.”

Viscount Belton’s Flame Magic Storm rages fiercely.
A flying eyeball demon (Hitotsume) says something in the distance, but no one listens as the battle begins.
Surprise attacks are fundamental.
“Pochi, Tama, throw stones at the approaching enemies! Liza, stab enemies who get past the stones!”
I give orders to the beast girls.
Now, let’s take down the big targets before the flames die down.
I hit the last holy stone directly at the flying eyeball demon’s eye. Honestly, exposing such a huge weak point is questionable. The holy stone pierces the demon and pulverizes several bones behind it before hitting the wall. The roar is drowned out by the sound of the Flame Magic Storm.
Three high-level skeletons are destroyed using sets of several copper coins. It’s like a shotgun blast of coins.
By the time the flames die out, only about seven low-level skeletons remain, their health halved.
I pass (or rather dump) the credit for that.
“Well done, Viscount. The bones weakened by the Flame Magic Storm are being destroyed one after another by stone throws.”
“Yes, these filthy undead monsters will be purified by my flames.”
“Indeed! That was my first time seeing such a powerful grand magic—it’s amazing!”
Mr. Nidoren, the slave trader, praises the Viscount with a smug expression. I leave the job of pleasing the Viscount to him and move to support the beast girls finishing off the remaining low-level skeletons.
Liza disrupts a skeleton’s balance by striking it with her spear, then Pochi and Tama alternate smashing its legs with daggers. Skeletons rolled on the ground hiding in the flames are finished off with coin shots. Thanks to the throwing skill, just flicking a copper coin with a finger quickly drains the skeleton’s health. …No finger flick skill? That would’ve looked cool.
] Acquired title: “Undead Slayer.”
] Acquired title: “Demon Slayer.”

Soon we finish off the low-level skeletons and head toward the exit. We leave the demon core untouched to avoid complications if reinforcements arrive.
