There's absolutely no end to this.
How many putrid soldiers (zombies) have I defeated by now? Even though one swing of my spear can take them down, this number is beyond what I expected.
I’ve made it to the point where I can see the city’s main gate, but there are still over a hundred putrid soldiers (zombies) in the space before it. It was easier when they were the goblins or bandits turned undead, but occasionally mixed in are bears or monster putrid soldiers (zombies), which are quite tough to deal with.
And on top of that, that thing!
The hydra that appeared behind the putrid soldiers (zombies) wasn’t just terrifying because of its massive size. Like a dragon, it even spewed fireballs.
By the skin of our teeth, Mia’s magic helped us avoid a direct hit, but we can’t expect to fend off many more of those. We have to strike first and take it out. To do that, we must close the distance to the hydra no matter what.
“Mia, make a path!”
That seemed to reach Mia. Using the magic she used earlier to push aside the cavalry, she created a path through the crowd of putrid soldiers (zombies).
I poured every last bit of my magic power into my Demonic Spear—

I can hear the commotion coming from the direction of Muno City.
I wonder if Liza and the others are alright?
Earlier, I collected 100 small stones. No, nearly 200. Everyone seems quite interested in risotto.
Right now, the ladies who’ve been helping out are teaching me local recipes. Later, I'll surprise Master with them.
“Is it really okay to give us this much food?”
“No problem.”
Just as I was tasting the finished dishes, the slender village chief arrived. Nana is attending to him. Even now, she’s still uneasy around men other than Master.
“Village Chief! It’s terrible! Refugees are pouring in from Muno City!”
“What did you say?”
“We’re holding them back at the village entrance for now, but there are over a hundred.”
It seems Arisa’s worries were justified.
What should we do?

The Scale Tribe older sister charges forward, leaving behind a trail of red afterglow.
What guts.
“Hey, open the path that the Elf girl made.”
“Yes.”
“Vice Captain, support the older sister.”
Even we experienced it just now, but I didn’t know there was such a wind magic-like spell within water magic. Is that an Elf secret art?
“Donovan, there might be more hydras. Use magic to scout.”
“Yes, Captain.”
I hope it’s just my worry.

With a thunderous roar, my all-out strike pierced the base of the hydra’s head.
I recalled the spiral spear strike Master once showed me and drove it in, but it seems this technique can’t be mastered overnight.
Still, I managed to disable one of the hydra’s necks.
But I can’t let up.
Even if my magic power runs out, my trained body remains.
Thrust.
Parry.
Seize an opening and deliver a powerful blow.
I was suspicious of their light attacks, but before I knew it, one of the cavalry, skillfully wielding twin swords, was handling two of the hydra’s necks.
A rotten goblin jumping from the hydra’s side was shot in the head by a stone coming from behind and collapsed. Tama is providing solid support.
The twin-sword cavalry is quite skilled for the human tribe.
Of course, nowhere near Master’s level, but the way he dances with his blades is impressive.
“Liza, here.”
Mia, bringing her horse closer, handed me a bottle of magic potion. I hadn’t used the health recovery potions yet, so?
“Magic power recovery.”
I see.
I chugged the bottle, swallowing the slightly sweet liquid. This sensation of magic power returning is a bit different from physical recovery.
I parried the hydra’s attacks aimed at exploiting our weakness with my Demonic Spear. It’s a bit tough with just one arm.
From my side, Mia seems to have used a balloon magic. The hydra was lifted and flipped sideways by green mist from beneath its belly. It looks like she used the hydra’s own blood pooled on the ground.
