Chapter 233: Report Meeting 📋

Published: August 15, 2025

After finishing the construction work, I returned to the shop for one more task today.

It's always better to have more allies! So, as I discussed with Mr. Darson and the others the other day, I arranged a meeting to get acquainted with the people who left the previous gathering early. But before that...

“Now, let's begin today's briefing.”

Seven people dispatched from the Duke's household gathered in our shop’s office.

Before Mr. Darson and the others arrived, we exchanged information about the day's progress.

Though everyone was at the construction site this morning, and the four bodyguards and I stayed together the whole time, only the maids had been acting separately...

And then my eyes met with Ms. Ribiola of the Great Ape Tribe.

“May I speak on behalf of the maids?”

“Please go ahead.”

“After leaving the construction site this morning, we spent the morning at the commercial guild working on land purchases, establishing a security company, and preparing for hiring personnel. There were no particular issues with these tasks, but there are some documents that need signatures from Lord Ryoma as the manager and Mr. Fuse and Mr. Jill as the persons in charge, so please review them later.

Also, information about the establishment of the security company and the recruitment guidelines will be announced tomorrow morning by the guilds that have branches in Gimul.”

“Thank you. It seems the procedures are progressing smoothly.”

“Yes. In the afternoon, I was back here, but during that time, we received some contacts.

First, from Lord Rible, who coordinates affairs in the slum district, the residents who had previously withheld their response about relocating are now gradually replying that they ‘accept’ the move. Also, the owner of the ‘children’s home,’ who had not responded until today, sent an apology for the delay along with a message expressing their strong desire to cooperate.”

“That’s great news!”

The people in the slum district were initially quite cooperative, but naturally, there were those who couldn’t agree immediately.

Moving is a significant issue, and it’s only natural to hesitate when thinking about possibly losing one’s home due to some mishap. The owner of the children’s home also had the lives of parentless children to consider, so it was understandable.

But the fact that these individuals turned cooperative means...

“The magic this morning must have worked.”

“Exactly. There’s no other explanation. After the demolition, when Mr. Kamil pointed it out, and the immediate reconstruction was carried out, I suspected something. So it was intentional to make it so flashy, right?”

“The experiment was my genuine intention, but I also hoped it would serve as a demonstration that the work could progress quickly. I was almost certain that sand magic could be used for demolition... If we launch multiple projects simultaneously using a large amount of money, it will naturally attract attention. It might be troublesome at times, but if I look like a skilled mage, it could serve as a deterrent. Above all, we now have many supporters.”

“Next time, please make your intentions clearer before the experiment.”

I said with a smile, hoping to show trust, and he replied with a wry smile.

“Next report: following discussions among the managers, if things go well, the children from the ‘children’s home’ scheduled for demolition will move tonight to the temporary housing that was rebuilt this morning. The remaining building can be demolished at any time.”

“They’ve already relocated? How many are there? Is there enough space?”

“That building is the same model as the one from this morning, an old warehouse with rotting floors that have holes, and parts of the walls and ceiling peeling off and falling, making it dangerous and mostly off-limits inside. The children had been living crowded together in this already cramped space, but they say it’s no problem. Moreover, the drafts during this season were tough, and now, without any drafts at all, it’s like heaven! All the children are very happy.”
