Chapter 165: The Unspoken Conference 🗣️

Today, two chapters posted simultaneously.

This is the second chapter.

The next morning.

"Ryoma-kun, what are your plans from here on?"

At breakfast, I was casually asked about my schedule for the day.

I already had my answer.

"Today, I plan to look for jobs involving house demolition at the Adventurers' Guild."

"House demolition? It's good that you're working, but why that?"

It all started from last night’s meeting.

Since it was my first time attending, the meeting began by confirming the decided events and progress on the tasks. By the time I had grasped the overall situation...

"I have a proposal."

The one who spoke was the groom, Mr. Fuse.

He made a suggestion to the entire assembly and asked me to help with some of the wedding venue preparations.

"The ceremony is in the backyard, and it’s going to be an Elf-style wedding, right? The maids should be able to prepare everything."

"It is an Elf-style ceremony, but we plan to build a Human-style church at the center of the venue."

"...What does that mean?"

"At first, last night, everyone was like, 'What on earth is he suddenly saying?'"

Recalling the situation made me smile wryly, but to explain this, we first need to confirm the styles and features of the wedding ceremonies.

"First, regarding the Human-style wedding: basically, it’s ‘going to a church, and pledging vows in front of relatives, friends, and clergy.’ The reception depends on your budget but is separate from the ceremony."

I confirmed that Mr. Serge and Mr. Pioro, who were sitting with the Duke and Duchess, nodded in agreement before continuing.

"By contrast, the Elf-style wedding involves setting up a stage in a suitable open space, placing tables and food around it, and having elders or people with status (responsibility) act as clergy substitutes to conduct the ceremony. While the marriage is also declared before relatives and friends, afterward, everyone present shares the food and joins a feast."

Apparently, there are more Elves living in human cities these days, but ancient Elves lived in small villages in nature. In those environments, everyone in the village usually knew each other, naturally leading to the custom where weddings were celebrated by the whole village.

Incidentally, although called "Elf-style," this ceremony style is actually common for weddings in rural farming communities regardless of race.

The wedding of the couple, scheduled a week later, was to be held in the Elf-style, as the madam had said.

But that was due to the large number of participants.

To accommodate more friends coming to celebrate.

The meeting participants and volunteers decided to have a full reception as well!

Most importantly, Ms. Luluneze said she admired Elf-style weddings.

"Actually, it seems she also admired Human-style weddings. It’s not that her liking for Elf-style was false."

"She's a girl, so it’s normal to be conflicted about the ceremony. She should have just said so."

"She tends to be hesitant too..."

Though she remained silent, Mr. Fuse noticed this and brought up the proposal during the meeting.

The meeting was initially chaotic with objections, but after learning Ms. Luluneze’s true feelings, everyone started mulling things over. Moreover, Mr. Fuse asked me for cooperation. He knew I had built the current shop in less than a week, so he thought it could be possible with my help. And consulting me was free.

Being able to say that so straightforwardly is his strength...

Well, after that, Ms. Luluneze, feeling a bit guilty for hiding her true feelings, was happy he noticed. As they both became aware of each other, their serious talk turned into a somewhat sweet atmosphere... The meeting participants were mostly exasperated or jealous, mainly toward Mr. Fuse.

However, since it was Mr. Fuse’s "achievement," they reluctantly watched over them. Some men were so jealous they seemed about to shed tears of blood.

"I won't even bother recounting the situation then... But after much discussion, it was agreed to make the stage church-like. Its size will comfortably accommodate the statue I will create, the bride and groom, and one representative acting as clergy. The entrance will be large so people can see inside from outside."
