Bringing the Farm to Live in Another World

Chapter 993: Preparation for a Night Raid 🌙

Zhao Hai thought for a moment and said, "This is worth a try. We can let Raedna give it a go. If it succeeds, that would be great; if not, it’s no big deal. There are quite a few people in our space now."

Laura smiled and said, "Isn't it better to have more people in space? We now have dozens of backgrounds, yet only less than ten are actually being utilized. It's such a waste."

Zhao Hai smiled slightly and said, "Don’t rush; take it slow. Sooner or later, we'll make use of them. Do you think we should go back to the space and take a look?"

Laura and the others naturally knew what Zhao Hai meant by "going to the space." He wanted to check on Mad Dragon Island and see how things were going in the laboratory.

They certainly didn't oppose this idea, and a few of them followed Zhao Hai into the space, heading for Mad Dragon Island. To be honest, the situation in the laboratory was quite good. To speed things up, Zhao Hai had specially brought in a few computers from the technological background and modified them with the universal machine before giving them to Klein and the others to use. This significantly increased their work efficiency.

Zhao Hai and the others were leisurely enjoying their day in the space, but Aks and his group were not having it easy. They had already received a distress signal from the guards at the rift defense line. They had been moving slowly these past few days to ensure a steady advance, which was why they received the distress signal in such a short time. Aks was taken aback upon seeing the distress letter.

Aks was well aware that they were in this space now. If the rift was sealed, it would mean they would be trapped here, which was not a good thing. Thus, Aks immediately summoned the generals who were fighting alongside him.

These generals were all seasoned veterans from the O'Neill family and had considerable seniority; even the clan leader had to show them some respect. So, Aks usually consulted them on important matters.

Once the generals arrived in the command vehicle, Aks took out the letter and placed it on the table, looking at the generals as he said, "Fonia from the rift defense line just sent word that an army suddenly appeared outside this space and is attacking them. The number is around ten million. What do you all think? Any ideas?"

Hearing Aks say this, everyone was momentarily stunned, then their expressions changed. One of them stood up immediately and said, "Young Master, we are in this space right now. If there are enemies in this space and they block our retreat, we will be caught in a pincer attack, which would be disastrous. Young Master, we should return immediately to provide support."

All the generals in the hall nodded in agreement. Aks also nodded and said, "I understand the situation, but I think we should return in batches. First, send a group of mechas to provide support, while the main force follows slowly behind. This way, even if those in the space retaliate, the main force can block them and prevent our army from being surrounded. What do you all think?"

When the generals heard Aks propose this plan, they were somewhat surprised. To be honest, they had not been fully convinced by Aks before. After all, Aks had not commanded in battle before. However, after the attack, they felt somewhat reassured; Aks’s command so far had been standard and he had not made any mistakes. Therefore, they did not raise any objections nor show any displeasure toward Aks. After all, he would be the family head in the future, and it wouldn’t be wise to offend him.

However, this time the rescue plan proposed by Aks did make them look at him in a new light. It wasn't that the plan was particularly brilliant; it was merely standard procedure. But for a rookie just stepping onto the battlefield, Aks’s ability to remain calm at such a moment already indicated he was someone of significance. Hence, they were indeed somewhat surprised.

Yet, they did not show it too much and simply agreed to Aks's plan. Aks then divided the tasks and left most of the battle vehicles behind, sending only a small portion of mechas to support the rift defense line. To speed up the mechas, Aks instructed that each of them carry energy converters so they could fly for extended periods.
