Chapter 98: Reversal of Black and White

Jialan and the other two were sitting in the tent. Jialan was reading a peculiar book, not one made of ordinary paper, but a parchment scroll, and it was a metal book radiating a faint silvery glow. The book was not thick, appearing to have only five pages, each page crafted to be quite thin and seemingly lightweight.

Upon seeing the book, Galen and Merlin both froze and then simultaneously exclaimed, “Sealing Magic Iron Scroll?”

Everyone in the room, except for Zhao Hai, was momentarily stunned upon hearing those four words, followed by shock as they stared at the slim iron book in Jialan's hands.

Seeing the expressions on their faces, Zhao Hai immediately understood that it was a valuable item, so he hurriedly asked, “Grandpa Galen, what is the Sealing Magic Iron Scroll?”

Galen snapped back to reality, glanced at the book, and a flash of joy appeared in his eyes as he replied, “The Sealing Magic Iron Book was created during the peak of alchemy by a master alchemist who spent nearly twenty years to make it. The materials used to create this book are extremely precious, so not many of these books exist. Even if one knows the method of making it, crafting such a book is still very difficult. The greatest use of this book is to seal magic; it can encapsulate a spell into this book, and as long as you use a bit of magic power to activate it, you can use it. Each page can seal one spell, regardless of level.”

Zhao Hai was taken aback; he immediately understood what this meant. This book was akin to a cannon with unlimited ammunition—once you pressed the button, it would fire, and unless you lacked the strength to press it, the cannon would keep firing. It was undoubtedly a treasure.

Merlin waited for Galen to finish before smiling and saying, “It seems we've really struck gold this time. This Sealing Magic Book appears to have been used before, but we don’t know what level of spell is sealed within. If the level is too high, it might indeed pose some trouble. However, as long as we can get our hands on this book, it will add to our strength.”

Zhao Hai nodded and turned to Zhao Qian, saying, “Zhao Qian, when the battle begins tonight, do not concern yourself with anyone else; the first target is Jialan. Make sure to kill him at the first opportunity. Remember, this guy is very cautious, so be careful of any traps he might set.”

Zhao Qian bowed and replied, “Yes, young master.”

Zhao Hai nodded and turned to Galen, saying, “Grandpa Galen, our primary target this time is Jialan. Everyone else can escape, but he must not get away. If he can produce the Sealing Magic Iron Scroll, then his background must be quite substantial; he is definitely an important figure in that organization, and it's possible we might discover some clues from him.”

Galen nodded and assured, “Alright, young master, don’t worry. He won’t escape.”

Zhao Hai nodded, looking enviously at the Sealing Magic Iron Scroll, then turned to Meg and said, “Meg, if we obtain this Sealing Magic Scroll, it will belong to you.”

Meg was taken aback, then her face lit up as she looked at Zhao Hai and said, “Really? You’re not joking with me, are you?”

Zhao Hai laughed heartily, saying, “Why would I lie to you? You are a sixth level mage, and yet you don’t even have a magic staff. This Sealing Magic Scroll is yours to use, and I’ll get you a better magic staff sometime in the future.”

Merlin smiled broadly and said, “Great, I’ll be looking forward to it. But young master, you must make sure to get me a good staff, at least one as beautiful and useful as your Evil Spirit Staff.”

Zhao Hai laughed heartily, “Alright, if I get the chance, I’ll definitely get you a good staff, hahaha.”

Zhao Hai was genuinely happy. If he hadn’t discovered these people, they might have succeeded in launching a surprise attack on him. However, he was sure that even if they had managed to attack successfully, he wouldn’t have suffered significant losses, because he had his space.
