CHAPTER 91: Radish Seeds
The three of them were chatting in the space. In fact, both Merlin and Meg enjoyed staying in this carefree environment. After experiencing the tragedy of their family being wiped out, they cherished this space as a utopia.
There was another point that Merlin and the others had recently discovered: they found that their speed of practicing magic in the space was significantly faster than outside. This was something Meg had noticed first.
Meg was only a level six mage and still had a lot of room for improvement, so she practiced magic while in the space. Initially, when she first entered the space, she was too busy to practice, but later, she felt that her progress seemed to accelerate compared to before. However, she didn’t pay much attention to it until she left the space, and only then did she realize the difference. So she brought this to Merlin’s attention.
Merlin had hardly practiced lately, as she was already an eighth-level grand mage and had reached a bottleneck. Even if she wanted to practice, it was impossible to break through that bottleneck in a short time. At her level, improving her strength relied not just on accumulating magical power, but also on opportunities and moments of enlightenment. Furthermore, she had too many tasks to handle now, so she hadn’t practiced magic intentionally for a long time, which is why she hadn’t discovered the difference in the space.
When Merlin heard Meg’s observations, she was quite curious, so she experimented and found that the speed of recovering magical power in the space was indeed much faster than outside, actually about fifty percent faster.
Merlin told Zhao Hai about this situation, but he didn’t understand what was going on. However, he noticed that their practice in the space didn’t have much impact on it, so he didn’t mind. After all, their increase in strength benefited him as well.
After chatting for a while, the crops outside had matured successively. Surprisingly, the first crop to mature was not the radishes but the peas, which matured in eighteen hours. Zhao Hai hadn’t expected the peas to mature before the radishes, but he quickly harvested them. The peas could be eaten and also used as seeds, although Zhao Hai didn’t plan to plant them right now.
Having harvested the peas freed up two acres of land. Zhao Hai didn’t do anything else and directly planted the two magic peach seeds. These were incredibly useful, so the sooner he harvested them, the better. He didn’t want to wait until he needed them to plant, as that wouldn’t be timely.
On one acre of land, he planted only one magic peach tree, making the space feel much more open. Zhao Hai then tried to take out some corn seeds, intending to plant them on that acre, but found that he couldn’t plant anything there.
Although he couldn’t plant anything on the land, people could still walk on it. However, Zhao Hai and the others were worried that walking on the land would affect the growth of the magic peach, so they chose to walk around it instead.
Two hours after planting the magic peach, the radishes matured. This time, due to the need to keep seeds, the radishes took a full twenty hours to mature. However, the yield made Zhao Hai very happy: the radish seeds from one acre amounted to a full eighty kilograms, which is about one hundred sixty pounds. From the two acres, he harvested three hundred twenty pounds of radish seeds.
After collecting three hundred twenty pounds of seeds, Zhao Hai immediately planted radishes again on the two acres of land, wanting to see how many seeds would be needed for this two acres of radishes.
After finishing planting the two acres, Zhao Hai looked at the seed usage and couldn’t help but smile. Surprisingly, he had only used four pounds of seeds for the two acres! With over three hundred pounds of radish seeds in hand, it seemed he wouldn’t have to worry about seeds for a long time.
Another two hours passed, and the pumpkins matured. Zhao Hai collected the two acres of pumpkins into the warehouse and planted radishes again. The last to mature were the cucumbers, which took a full twenty-eight hours to mature. This made Zhao Hai decide to exclude cucumbers from his planting plans.
