CHAPTER 806: The Demon King Meets Zhao Hai
Originally, this was just an inconsequential detail, but when the Demon King heard Griffin Demon Luo say this, his face changed dramatically. He solemnly asked Griffin Demon Luo, "Did you really see Zhao Hai standing on a large sword? And not on something else?"
Griffin Demon Luo was startled by the expression of the Demon King. He stammered, "Your Majesty, I saw it clearly. It was a blood-red large sword. The style of the sword is somewhat different from the large swords we usually see, and there was a tassel behind the sword."
Upon hearing Griffin Demon Luo's words, the Demon King's complexion shifted again. He said in a deep voice, "Alright, you may leave." Griffin Demon Luo responded and turned to leave.
Once Griffin Demon Luo was gone, the Demon King said in a low voice, "Stop the army and summon the Dragon King." A soldier immediately acknowledged and went to pass the order.
The Demon King stood in front of the Demon War Chariot, looking at the distant sky, murmuring to himself, "Could it be him? That’s impossible!"
After a while, the Dragon King arrived at the side of the Demon War Chariot and saluted the Demon King, saying, "Your Majesty, you called for me."
The Demon King nodded and said, "Zhao Hai sent a message saying he wants to talk to me. I have already halted the army. You will oversee the command here while I go meet Zhao Hai."
Hearing the Demon King say this, the Dragon King was momentarily stunned, then his face changed dramatically as he said, "Your Majesty, please think it over. Zhao Hai is powerful and crafty; it is too dangerous for you to go."
The Demon King shook his head and replied, "You don't understand. Just now, a scout from the Demon Griffin Tribe reported that he saw Zhao Hai standing on a large sword, talking to him, and that large sword is completely different from the conventional large swords."
Upon hearing the Demon King say this, the Dragon King's expression changed, and he whispered, "Your Majesty suspects...?"
Zhao Hai nodded, "That's right. Therefore, I want to meet Zhao Hai. There's no need for so many people to follow me. Don't worry, no matter how formidable Zhao Hai is, I am not defenseless either. You take good care of the army." The Dragon King did not try to stop him this time and simply responded. The Demon King then turned to the charioteer and said, "Move forward."
The charioteer cracked the whip, and several beast-shaped magical beasts roared and charged forward, quickly leaving the main army behind.
Zhao Hai stood on the large sword transformed from the blood staff and felt that fighting on the sword was quite enjoyable. The gentle breeze brushed his face, and white clouds floated beside him—this sensation was truly delightful.
Before long, a small black dot flew in from the distance. The dot grew larger and larger until it revealed its true form—it was indeed the chariot the Demon King was sitting in. What surprised Zhao Hai was that the Demon King came alone, which was beyond Zhao Hai's expectations.
Zhao Hai calmly stood there, watching as the Demon War Chariot approached. Soon, the chariot stopped in front of Zhao Hai, and then the door of the chariot opened. The Demon King appeared at the entrance, glanced at Zhao Hai, and then at the large sword beneath Zhao Hai's feet. A flicker of light flashed in his eyes before he addressed Zhao Hai, "I heard Mr. Zhao Hai wants to talk to me. May I ask what you wish to discuss?"
Zhao Hai smiled slightly and replied, "Indeed, I have some matters to discuss with Your Majesty. I have a few pieces of information that I believe will interest you."
The Demon King looked at Zhao Hai and suddenly smiled, "Good, may I invite you inside to discuss this?"
The Demon King wanted to test whether Zhao Hai had the courage to enter the chariot.
Zhao Hai returned the smile and said, "If Your Majesty invites me, how can I refuse?" After saying this, he moved and appeared at the doorway of the Demon War Chariot. He said to the Demon King, "Your Majesty, please."
