Chapter 805: Let's Talk
When Zhao Hai first heard that Laura wanted to do this, he wanted to persuade her not to. He thought it was pointless since everything produced in his space was valuable, and there was no need for such analysis; his wealth would continue to grow gradually.
However, Laura insisted on proceeding, so Zhao Hai didn't say much more. He understood that Laura simply wanted something to occupy her time; she didn't want to just sit around doing nothing.
Berry and Ryan had been following Laura these past few days as well; they weren't interested in battles, so Zhao Hai didn’t stop them and let them do as they pleased.
The first day passed, and the divine race continued to advance. On that day alone, they had already passed through three cities, nearly covering all the ground they had traversed during Yun Tianlei's previous campaign.
However, Zhao Hai did not launch a large-scale attack on the divine race's army. He was waiting. This time, Zhao Hai's focus was solely on two targets: the divine race's stronghold in the kingdom of light and the Demon Clan members.
On the second day, the Demon Clan made their move. Under the leadership of the Great Demon Lord, they mobilized an army of forty million, charging straight into the Ark Continent.
Zhao Hai observed the massive army of the Demon Clan, particularly noting the gloomy troops within.
This time, the Demon Clan's forces appeared well-prepared. Their army included many archers and powerful cavalry, along with numerous fast Demon Clan scouts deployed around the perimeter.
Zhao Hai noticed that, whether it was the divine race or the Demon Clan, their cavalry numbers weren't significant. Most of the Demon Clan members had wings and could fly, so they didn't rely on cavalry. Moreover, their weakest warriors were ninth-level fighters, capable of flying themselves, so they also lacked cavalry.
However, Zhao Hai believed that it wasn't that they deliberately didn't want cavalry; rather, it was due to the lack of suitable mounts. The magical beasts in the divine race were very strong, making it difficult for ordinary people to tame them. Therefore, forming a cavalry unit wasn't easy, and the situation for the Demon Clan was likely similar.
The situation with the barbarian tribe and the Winged Horse Tribe was somewhat unique. Both of these races primarily relied on cavalry. Even the elite troops being dispatched now were cavalry units. The Winged Horse Tribe, needless to say, used flying horses as mounts, which was not surprising.
What puzzled Zhao Hai was the barbarian tribe's mounts, which resembled rhinos. Although they were high-level magical beasts, it was evident that they couldn't easily take to the skies. Yet, the elite barbarian cavalry each had a ninth-level bull-shaped magical beast, which astonished Zhao Hai.
Zhao Hai had the advantage of his spatial abilities to acquire so many ninth-level magical beasts, but he was confused about how the barbarian tribe managed to obtain so many of the same kind.
Later, he called Man Ding over to inquire. He learned that the upgrading process for the barbarian tribe was somewhat similar to that of the king kong ape clan. For the king kong ape clan to upgrade, they had to level up alongside their magical beasts, as upgrading a person alone was very difficult. The same applied to the barbarian tribe.
The barbarian tribe members had to level up alongside their mounts; trying to upgrade independently was extremely challenging, nearly impossible. Upon hearing this, Zhao Hai finally understood the situation.
He then called Zhan Fei over to ask about the flying horses. According to him, the divine race had conquered the Winged Horse Tribe, so they should be able to use the flying horses as mounts. Yet, the divine race still had very few cavalry units, which puzzled Zhao Hai. After questioning Zhan Fei, Zhao Hai discovered that flying horses could only be ridden by those with Winged Horse Tribe blood. No one else could use them, not even the mighty divine race. Even if you defeated a flying horse in battle, it wouldn't become your mount.
