CHAPTER SEVENTY-NINE: POISON

Zhao Hai looked at the badge in his hand. This was not an ordinary low-level mage badge, but an intermediate mage badge, personally handed to him by Karl. Along with it, he received a hundred gold coins.

Neither Zhao Hai nor Galen expected Karl to give them such a high evaluation. After all, Zhao Hai had only summoned a different form without using any magic, and they initially aimed for a low-level mage badge, never considering that they could obtain an intermediate mage badge.

Nevertheless, this hundred gold coins relieved their immediate financial concerns, and they finally had over a hundred gold coins in their possession.

However, this amount of gold could only provide a slight financial cushion for them and would not significantly contribute to the development of the budah family.

Galen had already stored the gold coins away. To be honest, he felt a bit more secure now. While these hundred gold coins would not make the budah family flourish, they could help them hold on until Laura returned to Casa City.

The three of them walked to the carriage outside. Galen looked at the sky and turned to Zhao Hai, saying, “Young master, let’s go have something to eat at the Majidel Trading Company's restaurant.”

Although Majidel mainly dealt in various living supplies, they also had significant involvement in the restaurant and inn industry. However, unlike their other shops that focused on low to mid-range goods, their restaurants and inns were high-end. Dining there required several gold coins; after all, a single gold coin was enough for an average citizen’s living expenses for over a month.

Zhao Hai nodded and directly climbed into the carriage without saying a word, as this was what Galen had instructed him to do—minimize his speech upon arriving in Casa City.

Rock quickly drove the carriage to the front of a restaurant, which was considered a very upscale place in Casa City. This four-story building was taller than the mage guild.

As soon as the carriage stopped, a person dressed in ornate leather armor approached them. The leather armor was stunning, even more so than what Galen had purchased, with a layer of blue reflective paint that made it shine. This was the security uniform of the Magedel Restaurant.

The man walked to the front of the carriage, slightly bowed, and said, “Respectful sir, this type of carriage is not allowed to stop here. Please follow me this way.”

Galen, however, ignored him and jumped down from the carriage, opened the door, and invited Zhao Hai and Meg to get down. The three of them walked towards the restaurant, leaving Rock to follow the security guard to park the carriage.

As they reached the entrance of the restaurant, two beautiful girls dressed in waitress uniforms quickly approached them. They bowed to Zhao Hai and said, “Welcome to our establishment, esteemed mage. Do you have a reservation?”

Zhao Hai didn’t say anything, but Galen took out a gold medal and handed it over. One of the girls took the medal, carefully examined it, and then returned it to Galen, bowing again as they asked, “What can we do for you, distinguished guest?”

Galen immediately replied, “Arrange a room for us; we’re here to dine.” The two girls responded and led Galen inside.

The room they were assigned was on the third floor. The rooms there were not many, and each one appeared quite spacious. Since Zhao Hai and the others were just there for a meal to let others know they had arrived, they didn’t pick anything specific and simply chose a random room to enter.

Galen didn’t order anything extravagant either. He casually chose two dishes and a bowl of soup, and it was settled. Galen calculated that even for these items, it would cost around ten gold coins, while making the same dishes themselves would cost less than one gold coin—what a profit!

Once they ordered, the waiter promptly brought over a pot of Kaya. However, Zhao Hai didn’t touch it and waited until all the dishes were served. Once Galen closed the door, Zhao Hai finally took off his hat and sighed, “I thought I was going to suffocate. If I have to wear this outfit all the time, it would truly be life-threatening.”
