Chapter 602: Ice Column

Returning to the volcano, looking at the dilapidated and uninhabited Mountain City, Zhao Hai couldn't help but give a bitter smile. Perhaps this Mountain City also represents the Extreme North Icefield; once the secrets of the Extreme North Icefield are unraveled, it will become a part of history just like this Mountain City.

Zhao Hai slowly took to the skies, flying higher than the volcano. He gazed at the endless white icefield and the thirteen towering peaks resembling swords piercing the sky, feeling a surge of ambition. He wanted to conquer this place; he wanted to unlock the secrets that no one had been able to uncover!

With that thought, Zhao Hai let out a long howl and propelled himself directly into the Extreme North Icefield!

During the days when he was helping Thais and the others relocate and settle down, Zhao Hai wasn't idle either. He had Cai'er controlling the blood staff to map the Extreme North Icefield.

The Extreme North Icefield was truly vast, comparable to the Orc Prairie, perhaps even larger. In fact, Zhao Hai was unaware that the Extreme North Icefield wasn't originally this big; it was slowly expanding at a very slow rate. It was precisely because of this that the clan leader of the King Kong Ape Clan had led ten thousand warriors into the Extreme North Icefield, eager to discover what lay within, why they were continuously expanding. However, they never expected that once they entered, they would never be able to leave.

Now, the Giant Tiger Tribe, White Bear Tribe, and Ice Blue Eagle Clan were guarding the periphery of the icefield for the same reason; they didn't want the icefield to expand any further.

Zhao Hai didn't know any of this. He only felt that the Extreme North Icefield was too vast. When Thais and the others decided to move, he had Cai'er control the blood staff to record the map of the Extreme North Icefield. Even though the mapping process was advancing in a flat manner, the speed was still considerable. However, until now, he had not found a trace of the beast god spear.

But Zhao Hai understood that there was no need to rush. In such a desolate expanse, finding a ten-thousand-man team was truly not an easy task.

A ten-thousand-man team might seem a lot in other places, but in such a vast wilderness, it was like a drop in the ocean. Moreover, people could take many different paths in this wilderness, as there were no established roads; one simply had to keep moving forward. Yet, navigating in such an expanse was not simple at all. Who knew where the King Kong Ape Clan's ten-thousand-man team had ended up?

Because of this, Zhao Hai proceeded slowly, advancing like a flat plane, fearing he might miss any area.

This kind of search was incredibly monotonous. Zhao Hai found it hard to understand how the clan leader of the King Kong Ape Clan thought back then. Hadn't he considered that the Extreme North Icefield was vast, and that finding the core here would be difficult?

Zhao Hai didn't have the mood to dwell on this anymore. His daily task was to keep moving forward. He would stop if he detected anything unusual, even if it meant investigating a stone deeply buried underground, just to avoid missing a clue.

For a continuous ten days, Zhao Hai had not made any discoveries, which put immense pressure on him and worsened his mood.

Laura and the others noticed that Zhao Hai was feeling down. They tried various ways to cheer him up every day. While their methods had some effect, they could only provide temporary comfort until the beast god spear was found.

As time passed day by day, Zhao Hai grew increasingly irritable. Yet he managed to control himself well. However, his words became fewer, and his frown deepened. Laura and the others saw it all, feeling pained but having no way to help. Even if they wanted to assist, they felt powerless.

During the day, Zhao Hai was no longer in the spatial city. He spent his time in a small airship, his eyes never leaving the monitor.

This was the thirteenth day since Thais and the others settled down, but still, there were no clues. Zhao Hai gently closed his eyes and sighed; he was indeed feeling tired.
