CHAPTER 566: Scared to a Cold Sweat
Standing on the deck of the Peach Blossom, Juno appeared very calm, with Zhao Hai beside him as they navigated the Iron Horse River.
The Hurricane Family’s six-masted ironclad warship had suffered some damage during a battle and was currently under repair, so this time they were traveling on Zhao Hai's Peach Blossom.
The Iron Horse River was a major river that ran through the entire Pagoda Empire. It was wide and deep, serving as a vital transportation lifeline within the Pagoda Empire.
At the end of the Iron Horse River, it was not far from the Dwarf Iron Mountain, making transportation quite convenient. Zhao Hai and the others were currently on their way to the Dwarf Iron Mountain.
It had been four days since they left the Hurricane Family's territory, and they would reach a location not far from the Dwarf Iron Mountain in about three days.
Juno looked at the scenery on both sides of the river and sighed, "It’s been many years since I left the territory. I wonder how those old pals are doing. Xiao Hai, this time you’re doing business with the dwarf tribe; I can only introduce you to them. You should know that those dwarf fellows are very stubborn. If they don’t want to do business with you, no one can change their minds. By the way, what kind of business do you want to do with them?"
Zhao Hai smiled slightly and said, "The dwarf tribe specializes in ironware, of course. I want to trade ironware with the dwarves, using wine as the medium."
Juno was taken aback for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Good boy, that’s a great idea! Those guys are wine connoisseurs. If you trade good wine with them, they will definitely agree. By the way, what kind of wine? Is it that kind of milk wine?"
Zhao Hai's current Peach Blossom milk wine was quite popular on the continent, so Juno was aware of it. Zhao Hai chuckled, "Something like that, but there are better wines than that milk wine."
Juno grinned and said, "That’s good! There’s nothing dwarves like more than wine for business. I’ve tried that milk wine, and it’s quite good, especially the specially made top-quality milk wine; it tastes great."
The specially made top-quality milk wine Juno referred to was actually the kind brewed from cow's milk, as cow's milk was much richer than mountain goat's milk, resulting in a better-tasting wine. Of course, terms like "specially made" and "top-quality" were used to impress the nobles; without them, the distinction between this milk wine and ordinary milk wine would be lost.
Zhao Hai smiled and said, "If Grandpa Juno likes it, I’ll give you some when we get back. After all, it’s my own production, nothing remarkable."
Juno laughed, "Sure, save some for me when we get back. After drinking your wine, other wines just don’t taste the same. I have to say, you really know how to enjoy your time on this ship. It’s even more comfortable than my home."
Zhao Hai chuckled, "I don’t think your place is that comfortable; it’s just that I’m busy running around every day, which is tiring."
Juno teased, "Stop pretending in front of an old man like me. Complaining about what? Alright, enough of that. The dwarf tribe is actually quite easy to get along with, but one thing: you can’t deceive them. If you dare to trick them, they will definitely not let you go."
Zhao Hai smiled, "Don’t worry, I know that. I’ve dealt with the orc tribe before, so I understand their temperament."
Juno nodded, "Good, as long as you think that way. Remember, you can joke around with the dwarves, even making fun of their height. They won’t get angry, but if you say their ironware is bad without justification, they will turn against you immediately."
Zhao Hai nodded, "Got it. I won’t speak carelessly. Most of this ironware is meant for trading with the orc tribe. I’m not just looking for weapons, so it won’t be reckless."
Juno nodded, feeling relieved. The reason he reminded Zhao Hai of this was that he was afraid Zhao Hai would say something reckless to lower the price while doing business with the dwarves, which could completely offend them.
