Chapter 565: Vacation
Laura felt that Zhao Hai and the others were indeed quite different. Zhao Hai was inherently a person without much ambition; if it weren't for his desire to upgrade the space quickly, they might not have reached their current status.
At that moment, voices could be heard from the courtyard. Zhao Hai asked Meigen to open the door, and as they stepped outside, they noticed a man and a woman, both middle-aged, entering the courtyard, accompanied by two young individuals around twenty years old.
Chris was standing in front of the middle-aged couple, seemingly acting coy. Zhao Hai immediately identified the two as Chris’s parents without needing to ask.
Sure enough, when Chris saw Zhao Hai open the door, he promptly said something to the couple. The pair turned to Zhao Hai, quickly walked over, and bowed in unison, saying, “Thank you, Family Head Zhao Hai, for saving our daughter’s life. Please allow us to pay our respects.”
Zhao Hai hurriedly returned the gesture, saying, “I dare not accept such courtesy; it was merely a coincidental opportunity.”
At this point, the elder Juno also came out to speak with Zhao Hai, who was talking with Chris's father. With a slight smile, he said, “Hong is back; please invite Family Head Zhao Hai to dine.”
Chris's father immediately responded and turned to Zhao Hai, saying, “Family Head, please come with us to dine.” Zhao Hai did not hesitate and followed along with Laura and the others toward the dining room.
Although Chris’s home was not a castle, their courtyard was not small. They had a dedicated dining room, but compared to those of larger families, the decorations in their dining room fell far short. The dining table and chairs looked like they had seen many years; while they were certainly much better than those in ordinary peasant homes, they were lacking compared to those of the nobles.
Juno was already waiting for them in the dining room. After inviting Zhao Hai and his family to sit down, Juno's wife quickly served the prepared dishes.
Upon seeing the food, Zhao Hai couldn't help but smile. The Hurricane Family was truly interesting. They lived in a rural village and used ordinary old furniture, and the items they used to entertain guests were the same as those used by rural folk.
Nowadays, when nobles hosted meals, they generally chose exquisite and expensive dishes, while for rural folk, a meal was considered good if it included chicken, fish, and meat. Today’s food presented by the Hurricane Family followed this approach as well.
It was the first time for Laura and the others to eat such food, and they were quite curious. However, Zhao Hai felt a sense of familiarity; back on Earth, he had eaten such meals frequently.
Juno kept encouraging them to eat, and Zhao Hai was not polite about it. While dining, he chatted casually with Juno, making the meal quite relaxed and enjoyable.
Zhao Hai found that the Hurricane Family was indeed easy to communicate with. Talking to them was not like conversing with other nobles, where one had to be cautious. With them, there was no need to worry about being schemed against; they simply chatted about everyday matters.
After the meal, they moved to the living room. Chris's mother brought out Kaya, and together with Chris's grandmother, they left, leaving just Juno and Hong in the living room with Zhao Hai.
After sipping some Kaya, Zhao Hai turned to Juno and said, “Old sir, I would like to ask how you plan to handle the recent incident?”
The incident Zhao Hai referred to was, of course, regarding Chris's attack. He wanted to inquire about Juno's stance on the matter. If Juno did not intend to take action, then there was no need for him to act against the Church of Light immediately. Otherwise, if he claimed the Church of Light was behind the attack but the Hurricane Family denied it, he would find himself in a difficult position.
If the Hurricane Family wanted to deal with the Church of Light, he could help by spreading the news, alerting everyone on the continent to be cautious of the Church.
