Chapter 50: Catching Undead Beings
At this moment, Galen said in a deep voice, “Young master, isn’t it a bit unsafe to keep this thing in the space? It’s poisonous.”
Zhao Hai quickly smiled and replied, “It’s okay, Grandpa Galen. Let’s go get some water and call everyone over to drink. Once they drink this water, they won’t have to fear the poison anymore.” After speaking, he turned and walked toward the spring in front of the grass hut, with the crocodile skeleton obediently following Zhao Hai like a loyal dog, keeping a distance of five steps behind.
When they arrived at the spring, they didn’t notice anything special about it; it was just a spring, unchanged and ordinary.
Zhao Hai and the others were somewhat puzzled, but Meg ran into the hut to get some cups, while Wood and Stone went to call those slaves who had been practicing their writing to the point of almost going mad.
After Meg brought over several cups, Zhao Hai took the lead and drank a mouthful of water. Smacking his lips, he found it tasteless, then put down the cup and walked over to the crocodile skeleton.
Just after drinking, Galen hurriedly grabbed Zhao Hai and said, “Young master, let me handle this. You’re not feeling well right now. If this water doesn’t work, I can use my fighting spirit to withstand it, but you can’t.”
Zhao Hai thought about it and nodded. Galen walked over to the crocodile skeleton, took a deep breath, and extended his hand towards it. Zhao Hai and the others watched Galen nervously until he placed his hand on the crocodile skeleton, and everyone instinctively held their breath.
Nothing happened! Galen was completely fine. He even gave the crocodile skeleton a strong pat, and still, nothing happened. It seemed the water really had a detoxifying effect.
After patting the crocodile skeleton a few more times, Galen smiled and said, “It’s fine, young master. It looks like the water really works.”
Zhao Hai nodded and walked over to the crocodile skeleton, giving it a pat. The crocodile skeleton wagged its tail like a dog rewarded by its master, almost hitting a nearby slave.
Unable to help himself, Zhao Hai patted the crocodile skeleton and said, “Don’t wag your tail around like that; what if you hit someone? You’re quite interesting, and you’re a mutated one at that. Since that’s the case, I’ll call you Alien.”
Zhao Hai was quite amused; he had enjoyed the movie "Alien" back on Earth, and since this crocodile skeleton was so strange, he decided to simply call it Alien.
It seemed like the creature understood Zhao Hai’s words, wagging its tail even more joyfully, though this time it didn’t sway wildly but rather shook it gently.
Zhao Hai didn’t pay much attention to it, patting Alien’s head and saying, “Why don’t you go lay down behind the hut?” After saying that, he turned to Galen and asked, “Grandpa Galen, do you think we could capture more undead beings?”
Galen thought for a moment and replied, “That’s a good idea, but the space is only so big. We can’t fit that many undead beings in there.”
Zhao Hai frowned; he had indeed forgotten about that detail. The total space was only about ten acres, and out of that, ten acres were arable land. Zhao Hai certainly couldn’t let those undead beings take up that space, and they still needed to make arrangements for the slaves. Besides those areas, there wasn’t much space available, and those undead beings were almost as large as Alien. Even if they were smaller, they wouldn’t be much smaller. If he brought them all into the space, there really wouldn’t be enough room for them.
Zhao Hai walked around in circles, suddenly remembering the earlier prompt from the space, which had classified Alien as a robotic-like object—not a living being, but an object. This meant the space didn’t recognize Alien as a living creature. If Alien wasn’t a living being, could it be stored in the warehouse? If that was possible, then the space could certainly accommodate more undead beings, and Zhao Hai might even be able to pretend to be a summoner in the future.
