CHAPTER 424: At Sea
When Lando heard Phil's words, he couldn't help but furrow his brows. Tianshui City was not close to Jadewater City; even if Wind Falcon flew, it would take several hours. Yet Zhao Hai was able to arrive simultaneously with Blood Eagle after receiving the message, which truly surprised him.
He had seen the Blood Eagle that Zhao Hai gifted to Smith; it was exceptionally magnificent. Its combat power and speed were far superior to that of an ordinary Wind Falcon. The fact that Zhao Hai could reach Tianshui City at the same time as Blood Eagle spoke volumes about his incredible speed.
Smith looked at Lando and said softly, "Father, I heard a piece of news from the Shelley family. They say Zhao Hai is a spatial mage, but I don't know if it's true."
Lando could no longer sit still; he suddenly stood up and exclaimed, "A spatial mage? Are you serious?"
Smith nodded, saying, "Yes, it's true. The Shelley family has issued a gag order, and the information is tightly controlled. I managed to find out after extensive inquiries, but this news is still unconfirmed."
Lando turned in circles, saying, "If he really is a spatial mage, then he is worthy of Little Meigen. But what about your identity? We have always been unable to find out about mine; how can you trust someone like him with Meigen?"
Smith forced a smile and replied, "Father, I've already discovered his identity. Although it was unexpected, I don't think I was mistaken."
Lando stared in shock, "You found out? How is that possible? Nearly all the major families on the continent are investigating, yet no one has succeeded until now, and you did?"
Smith sighed, "I didn't actually dig it out; Zhao Hai told us himself. I asked him about his identity before letting Meigen get engaged to him, and he willingly shared it."
Lando frowned at Smith's expression and asked, "What? Is his identity special? Is he really from that hidden family or a major power?"
Smith shook his head, "No, we initially went in the wrong direction. He is neither from a hidden family nor a major power. His surname is Budah; he was previously called Adam Budah, but now he has changed it to Zhao Hai Budah."
Lando was taken aback, then exclaimed, "Budah? You mean the lord of the Black Earth Wilderness? The Budah family?"
Smith nodded, "Yes, that's the one. So, the first place he appeared was at Black Soil Fortress, and he first revealed himself in the Versailles Principality."
Lando nodded but then his expression changed dramatically, "Damn it! If he is indeed from the Budah family, then he drank Void Water? How can Meigen marry him? Are you out of your mind?"
Smith looked at Lando, silently sighing. Lando's reaction mirrored his own when he first learned about Zhao Hai's identity. However, he couldn't ignore Lando's words and replied with a bitter smile, "If Zhao Hai really had Void Water, how could I let Meigen marry him? The poison of Void Water in him has already been resolved."
Lando was stunned, "Resolved? Really resolved?"
Smith nodded, "Absolutely. I had him demonstrate his magic and fighting spirit. His magic has already reached the eighth level, and his fighting spirit is at the eighth level as well. However, because he didn't train properly in martial arts before, if he were to fight solely with fighting spirit, he would only be equivalent to a seventh-level warrior. But he's a full-system mage, adept in all forms of magic, capable of using mixed magic. Based on my estimates, in magical combat, even a low-level ninth-level expert would not be his opponent."
Lando looked at Smith, "Are you serious? He really is a full-system mage? Or is he dual cultivating magic and martial arts? Did he have some sort of fortuitous encounter?"
Smith offered a wry smile, "I suspect so, but he is unwilling to say anything. Perhaps he will tell Meigen in the future, but it’s clear he won’t easily confide in someone he doesn’t trust."
Lando frowned, "He’s quite guarded, but that’s understandable. Well, you did well this time; I never expected this kid to be so strong. If we were to face him, we would truly suffer. But this kid actually tried to run off with my granddaughter; I won’t forgive him."
