Chapter 413: Rock Shrimp Tribe
The Rock Shrimp Tribe was a large family, with many descendants, including numerous direct descendants from other prominent families. Some of these direct descendants could become heirs, while others could not.
Zhu Wan held a very favored position within the Karlqi Family. His status in the eyes of the elders of the family was even higher than that of Smith and the others. Because of this, when Zhu Wan said he wanted to deal with Zhao Hai, the elders of the Karlqi Family agreed.
For a large family like the Karlqi Family, they generally did not show too much respect for their offerings. This was why Zhu Wan wanted to throw those eighth-level offerings into the sea. As long as no one saw it, and he later gave a bit of money to the families of those offerings, the matter would be smoothed over. No one would care about the lives or deaths of those offerings.
Because of this, Zhao Hai killing those offerings was merely meant to teach the Karlqi Family a lesson, making them think twice before daring to act recklessly against him. His enmity with the Karlqi Family was not too deep.
However, if he truly acted against Zhu Wan, his enmity with the Karlqi Family would become severe, to the point where it might be a fight to the death. No family would be able to resolve their hatred after their direct descendants were attacked, especially for a prestigious family like theirs that valued reputation.
It was this consideration that led Zhao Hai to let Zhu Wan go, as well as to send someone to protect his safety. Zhao Hai was well aware that he had a recording of what Zhu Wan intended to do to those eighth-level experts, which almost eliminated Zhu Wan's competition for the position of family head.
That recording might not mean much to Zhao Hai, but it was crucial for Zhu Wan. If Smith got hold of that recording, he could use it to gain Zhu Wan's support, significantly increasing his chances of becoming the family head.
Zhu Wan was indeed a playboy, but his status among the elders of the Karlqi Family could not be underestimated. Gaining his support was equivalent to having someone constantly speaking well of you around the elders of the Karlqi Family, which would be a tremendous help for Smith.
Zhao Hai, however, was not thinking along those lines at the moment. He had the undead beings take the ships Zhu Wan brought out to the open sea, to a deserted area, and then directly stored them in his spatial magic. He instructed the Peach Blossom to head towards the last location they encountered the shrimp tribe.
Zhao Hai was not unwilling to enter the deep sea at other locations; he could easily find a spot to do so. However, he was unsure of the shrimp tribe's territory. If the shrimp tribe's territory were small, he might easily intrude into someone else's domain once he reached the open sea, which would lead to trouble.
Soon, Zhao Hai reached the territory where he last encountered the shrimp tribe. However, he did not linger and headed directly into the deep sea. At the same time, he kept careful watch, prepared to fend off any attacks from the sea tribe. There was not a very clear line between the near shore and the deep sea, but those accustomed to the sea knew that the islands, like Monkey Head Island, marked the boundary. Once past those islands, it would be the sea tribe's territory, and if they killed you, it would be in vain; a ninth-level expert on the continent would not start a war with the sea tribe over just a few people.
The ship carrying Zhao Hai slowly moved into the deep sea, but to his surprise, they did not encounter any attacks. Everything seemed quite normal, almost as if they were sailing in the near shore.
Zhao Hai looked at the monitor, frowning, because he did not see a single shrimp tribe member or even a sea tribe member, which left him puzzled.
Just then, Zhao Hai noticed something moving in the sediment of the seawater. He looked more closely and realized that there was a fish, a very strange fish. The color of the fish matched that of the seabed, so Zhao Hai had initially overlooked it.
