CHAPTER 406: Charlie's Reward

Through this incident, Zhao Hai came to understand that the host had such benefits. Now, the monitoring range of the space was as much as ten thousand meters. Ten thousand meters! Although this iron ball was not large, if it were made into a thin little sword, its lethality would not be small. Wouldn’t that mean he had a flying sword?

Thinking of this made Zhao Hai excited, but he usually just played with the iron ball in the space and did not mess with it outside of it.

Here in the Ark Continent, there was no kind of metallic gym ball like in China. If you were to mess around with two iron balls, you would definitely be considered a madman.

In the afternoon, when Zhao Hai came out from the space, he did not see Charlie. Zhao Hai knew that Jadewater City was Charlie's territory. He had just arrived and had many matters to deal with. He was not in a hurry and did not wander around; he just stayed in the Purple Bamboo Courtyard, chatting with Laura and the others over Kaya.

In the evening, Charlie invited Zhao Hai to dinner again and repeatedly apologized to him, saying he was too busy and neglected Zhao Hai. For a prince to show such courtesy was quite impressive. Zhao Hai certainly would not be angry; he humbly accepted and drank a few cups with Charlie to smooth things over.

Charlie’s actions shocked Trazeb even more. Although Charlie was considered talented among the princes, he was also very proud. He usually seemed to have good relations with everyone and was polite to all, but as Charlie's confidant, Trazeb understood him well.

This prince was very proud at heart and looked down on ordinary people. His politeness was due to education, not because he genuinely respected them.

However, Trazeb could feel that Charlie's politeness toward Zhao Hai was sincere. He truly regarded Zhao Hai highly, which surprised Trazeb.

If Zhao Hai's business was profitable, it was still just a business, far from the tax revenues of Jadewater City. Charlie would not think highly of Zhao Hai because of that.

As for Zhao Hai's strength, he was merely an eighth-level expert, not quite at the ninth level, which wouldn’t warrant such courtesy from Charlie. But now, Charlie was indeed very polite to Zhao Hai, which left Trazeb puzzled.

After dinner, Zhao Hai returned to the space to rest, while Trazeb stood in the living room with Charlie.

In the afternoon, they did not have much time for idle talk, as they were handling official business. Trazeb mainly reported to Charlie about the recent income of Jadewater City and some matters that needed to be addressed, and now they had finished that.

After Trazeb served Kaya to Charlie, he questioned, "Your Highness, why do you place such importance on Zhao Hai? Is his strength that formidable?"

Charlie glanced at Trazeb and smiled faintly, "What? Are you unconvinced?"

Trazeb shook his head and replied, "Not at all. I've known you for many years; how could I be unconvinced over such a matter? I just don't understand what ability this Mr. Zhao Hai has that makes you value him so highly."

Charlie smiled and said, "It's his business, his connections, and his strength. These are what I appreciate. Lirui, explain Zhao Hai’s matters to Trazeb in detail."

Lirui nodded and recounted everything about Zhao Hai.

Trazeb truly hadn't expected it to be this way. He knew that Zhao Hai had connections with the Shelley family and Karlqi Family, and he was aware that Zhao Hai had some conflicts with the Karlqi Family recently. He just didn't expect that Duke Ryan had actually been dealt with by Zhao Hai, nor did he know that Zhao Hai was a high-level multi-system mage.

Multi-system mages rarely achieve high accomplishments because each type of magic is not easy to master. The fact that Zhao Hai was a high-level multi-system mage was already astonishing, and such an identity was indeed worthy of Charlie's respect.

On the continent, ninth-level experts rarely take action in conflicts; generally, the real decisive force is the eighth-level experts. Because of this, a high-level multi-system mage is exceptionally important.
