CHAPTER 386: It's Not Possible, It's Certain
Smith was in his study writing a letter to his older brother. He wanted to explain Zhao Hai's situation in more detail to his brother and the others, as they needed to change the family's attitude towards Zhao Hai.
Smith was very clear that for their family, Zhao Hai was the most important; everything else was secondary. How much profit could the firefly fish bring to the family? Compared to Zhao Hai, that money was nothing. If he could use all the income from Tianshui City in exchange for Zhao Hai's loyalty, Smith would do it without hesitation, but clearly, that was impossible.
Smith understood that for someone like Zhao Hai, money alone would not move him. Zhao Hai appeared to like money, but every penny he had was earned through his own efforts. Even the time he robbed Duke Ryan, it was based on his own skills.
Smith knew Zhao Hai valued relationships, so he had taken good care of Ryan during this time. Although Ryan's family had not sent anyone to pick her up yet, she was very safe in Tianshui City. She could shop and explore without worrying about any danger.
Although Zhao Hai rarely visited Ryan, Smith still took great care of her. He wanted to let Zhao Hai know that they had been silently helping him, hoping that Zhao Hai would have a hint of gratitude towards the Karlqi Family, thinking of them in future endeavors.
However, all of Smith's good intentions were completely ruined by the family's recent actions. He knew that if this matter was not handled well, Zhao Hai might no longer cooperate with them in the future, which would lead to significant losses for them.
Smith did not think for a moment that Zhao Hai was genuinely afraid of the church of light. Given Zhao Hai's attitude toward them, would he be afraid? Moreover, he was still the prince consort of the Herculean Bull Tribe, and the church of light had little influence on the Orc Prairie. Even if their family abandoned Zhao Hai, he could easily retreat to the prairie, where the church would have no way to reach him.
At that moment, Phil suddenly walked in. The only person who could enter Smith's study without prior notice was Phil. Upon seeing Phil enter holding a piece of paper, Smith couldn't help but be curious and asked, "Uncle Phil, what happened?"
Phil handed the paper to Smith with a serious expression. From Phil's face, Smith immediately sensed something was wrong. He took the paper and, after reading its content, his expression turned grim.
Bang! Smith slammed the letter down on the table, stood up, and paced around the room a few times, saying, "This is outrageous, absolutely outrageous! How could he do this? This is ruining my plans!"
Phil understood that Smith was not angry with Zhao Hai, but rather with Zhu Wan. Zhu Wan's actions had almost pushed Zhao Hai to their opposing side. Fortunately, Zhao Hai was strong enough to teach Zhu Wan a lesson; otherwise, the Karlqi Family would have been in big trouble.
Regarding Zhao Hai's treatment of Phil, Smith was not angry at all; on the contrary, he felt quite relieved. Over the years, Zhu Wan had caused quite a few problems, and out of respect for their father, they didn't say anything. Who knew that Zhu Wan would become increasingly outrageous and deserved to be taught a lesson?
Phil said in a deep voice, "I've arranged for someone to pick up the fifth young master. Young master, you need to prepare here and resolve this matter as soon as possible. Otherwise, when the fifth young master returns, complications may arise."
Smith nodded and replied, "It's not a possibility; itβs a certainty. This time, Little Hai taught him a lesson. I think after returning to the family, he will definitely incite the family to deal with Little Hai. This cannot happen, otherwise it will be disastrous for the Karlqi Family. I always feel that Little Hai has many secrets hidden from us. What he shows us is just a part of his secrets, and we cannot push him to the enemy's side."
Phil agreed with Smith's viewpoint. His recent interactions with Zhao Hai had given him a better understanding of him. Just as Smith had said, Zhao Hai indeed had too many secrets. If they were to fall out with him without knowing his cards, it would obviously be unwise.
