Chapter 329: How Did I End Up with Such a Foolish Son?
Robbie glanced at Fernand but said nothing. He then turned his attention to the cavalry and spoke in a deep voice, "Who is leading the troops today?"
A cavalry captain stepped forward, bowing in his saddle as he addressed Robbie, "Captain Niklas of the Third Battalion greets you, my lord." Even when cavalrymen meet the king, they maintain their position in the saddle, so although this captain was one of Robbie's subordinates, he did not dismount.
Robbie looked at Niklas and nodded, saying, "Go back and take fifty military sticks; you may leave." Niklas saluted Robbie from his horse, "Yes," and then waved his hand, leading the cavalry away.
Niklas understood why he was being punished. He was part of the city defense force in Sartu City. Although they were also under the command of the Iksa Family, they could not be easily moved. To mobilize them, they needed Robbie's token. However, this time they acted on Fernand's words, which was indeed a bit much, hence Robbie's punishment.
Once Niklas had gone, Robbie turned to Fernand and said, "Let's head home, Mr. Wells. Ibel, why don't you join me at my house for a visit?"
Robbie then looked at Yilin and smiled subtly, "Manager Yilin, please don't take it to heart. The young man was rude; I will come to apologize another day."
Yilin smiled back, "Your lordship, you are too kind. I wouldn't dare let you come just to apologize. It would be enough if you could take some time to check on my little shop's business."
Robbie laughed heartily, "Mr. Yilin, you are being too polite. You're pulling business into my lap, haha! I will definitely visit when I have the time, but I won't stay long today."
Yilin quickly replied, "Please, my lord." Robbie nodded to him, instructed the carriage, and they took off.
Zhao Hai and Ibel hurried to keep up; Zhao Hai climbed into the carriage while Ibel mounted a horse, following Robbie to the marquess's residence. Fernand also sat in the carriage, trailing behind as they made their way home.
Upon arriving at the marquess's residence, Robbie invited Zhao Hai and Ibel into the living room, and Fernand naturally followed. Once inside, the maids promptly served Kaya, only to be dismissed by Robbie shortly thereafter.
As soon as the maids left, Robbie's expression darkened. He slammed his hand on the coffee table and glared at Fernand, "You foolish boy! How did I end up with such a foolish son? What kind of place is the Shelley Hotel? Even when I go there to eat, I have to pay! You dared to surround it and even barged inside—do you wish to get yourself killed?!"
Fernand lowered his head and said nothing. Robbie continued, "Don't think that just because our Iksa Family has such a large territory, you can act like you're something special. Our family's land was given to us because those noble families looked down on it. Do you really see yourself as a significant person? The Shelley Hotel, with all its branches, amounts to no less than ten thousand across the continent. It is one of the top families! Do you even dare provoke such a family? Do you want the entire Iksa Family to suffer with you?"
Fernand remained silent, still looking down, but inside he felt a bit dismissive. In his view, Robbie's words were exaggerated, and he didn't believe that running a hotel held such power.
Seeing Fernand's demeanor, Robbie sighed, "And with this incident, can't you see that Ryan is deliberately provoking you? You actually fell for it so easily. How did I end up with such a foolish son? Is there nothing else you can think about besides women? If you want a good woman, I don't mind, but do you not know what kind of person Ryan is?
