Chapter 327: Escalating Conflict

Fernand coldly looked at Zhao Hai and said, "I am also a viscount. How can a viscount not discipline a servant?"

Zhao Hai smiled slightly and replied, "Of course, a viscount can discipline his own servant, but when it comes to disciplining my servant, you may not be qualified. He harmed my servant, so I will retaliate against yours. This isn't excessive, is it?"

As he spoke, he made a gesture, and a wind blade sliced toward one of the servants behind Fernand.

Fernand hadn't anticipated that Zhao Hai would act so swiftly. The servant behind him reacted quickly; upon seeing Zhao Hai's movement, he immediately summoned his fighting spirit, enveloping himself in it.

However, Fernand's servant was only a level five warrior, and his fighting spirit defense was quite limited. The wind blade Zhao Hai unleashed was equivalent to a spell cast by a level seven mage; despite the servant's quick reaction and fighting spirit defense, he was unable to block Zhao Hai's wind blade attack. With a scream, one of his arms fell to the ground.

Seeing the tragic state of his servant, Fernand's face turned ashen. "You bold madman! On the territory of the Iksa Family, how dare you act so wildly? Do you wish to die?"

Zhao Hai replied coldly with a smile, "Whether I want to live or not isn't for you to decide, woodhead. Let's go." Woodhead complied and followed Zhao Hai out of Ryan's room.

Ryan was genuinely a bit frightened; she had not expected Zhao Hai to act so decisively and sever a servant's arm outright. It was too bloody. With this, the enmity between Zhao Hai and Fernand had escalated significantly, making it hard to resolve.

Ryan had never imagined Fernand would be this reckless, or that Zhao Hai would be so unyielding, showing no signs of retreat and striking so hard from the start.

Fernand's face turned an even deeper shade of anger; he didn't expect Zhao Hai to disrespect him to this degree, making him feel extremely embarrassed. Throughout his life, no one had dared to treat him with such disregard on Iksa territory.

However, he was powerless; he had not brought many guards with him this time, and even if he wanted to cause trouble for Zhao Hai, he couldn't do much. The loss of face was significant. Fernand could only scoff and stride out. His servant, despite the pain, gritted his teeth, used his fighting spirit to seal the vessels in his arm to stop the bleeding, and followed Fernand out.

Ryan had not anticipated things would escalate to this extent. Looking at the bloody arm on the ground, she felt a wave of fear wash over her. She suddenly remembered that in the Versailles Principality, she had threatened Zhao Hai, and almost got killed by his subordinate. Zhao Hai had known her identity then; if he had not been afraid in the Versailles Principality, would he be afraid here on Iksa territory?

Thinking of this, Ryan felt an even deeper regret; this situation was now beyond her control. If things went wrong, it could lead to an all-out war between Zhao Hai and the Iksa Family.

While Ryan wanted to teach Zhao Hai a lesson, she never intended for him to die. Now, seeing how the conflict with Fernand escalated, this was definitely not what she wished to see.

Just as Ryan was silently regretting, Shun Yi suddenly appeared at Ryan's door and said, "Your highness the princess, the viscount requests your presence to discuss something."

Ryan was taken aback, then nodded immediately, "Alright, I'll go right away." After standing up, she followed Shun Yi to Zhao Hai's room.

Zhao Hai was sitting in the living room waiting for Ryan. Upon seeing her arrive, he nodded slightly and said, "Your highness the princess, please take a seat."

Ryan looked at Zhao Hai and opened her mouth, saying, "Sir, you were too reckless this time. This is the territory of the Iksa Family; it's unwise to clash with Fernand here. Although Fernand is not favored in the Iksa Family, you are openly slapping their face; they will not let you go easily."
