Chapter 210: Southern King

Although Xu Wanying didn't know that Meg was a sixth-level mage, he did know that Meg was Grandpa Galen's granddaughter, which was enough to make her proud.

Everyone on the continent knew about Grandpa Galen's importance to the budah family. If it weren't for Galen and Merlin, the budah family might have been wiped out a long time ago. With this thought in mind, the small dissatisfaction Xu Wanying felt immediately vanished upon hearing that Meg was Galen's granddaughter.

Zhao Hai looked at Xu Wanying and said, "Wanying, I want you to know my identity. I consider you one of my own. You have already sworn a blood oath, and you cannot betray me in this lifetime. However, I still hope you can become my trusted subordinate. Iā€™m not afraid to tell you that although I have already consumed the Void Water, I am now an aberrant mage. Moreover, I have a way to detoxify the Void Water. The budah family will definitely rise again in the future. As long as you genuinely help me, I will not treat you poorly. But if you only plan to slack off and be lazy, don't blame me for being rude."

Xu Wanying bowed and said, "Young master, please rest assured. Wanying has already vowed to follow you, and I will naturally do my utmost to help you."

Zhao Hai nodded and said to Xu Wanying, "Follow me." He then stood up and walked outside.

Although Xu Wanying didn't understand what Zhao Hai meant, he followed Zhao Hai outside. Shortly after, a large group of undead beings walked in. These undead beings were all zombies. Xu Wanying recognized them as undead due to their extremely stiff faces. Some zombies showed no signs of bleeding even when injured, standing there with a blank expression.

However, they were all holding one or two corpses in their hands. Zhao Hai glanced at them and first cast a spirit binding technique on the corpses of the three mages, turning them into advanced undead beings. He then used a bone forging technique on the ordinary mercenary corpses, transforming them into low-level undead beings.

Xu Wanying didn't quite understand Zhao Hai's intentions, wondering why he was being shown these. Zhao Hai smiled and collected all the undead beings into his space.

Xu Wanying saw a flash of light in the courtyard, and then all the undead beings disappeared. While he was in a daze, the undead beings reappeared, but they looked completely different.

The undead beings released this time were all zombies, unlike the skeletons created from the previous spirit binding and bone forging techniques. The zombies that had been injured were now fully restored, which shocked Xu Wanying.

Zhao Hai turned to the three dark mages and asked, "What are your names?"

One of the zombie dark mages stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Young master, my name is Laika. These two are my junior brothers; he is Trey, and he is Mike."

Zhao Hai nodded and said, "Come inside. I have something to ask you." He then turned and entered the room, while Xu Wanying looked at the three zombie dark mages in shock.

Xu Wanying had seen zombies before. When he was a killer, he once collaborated with a dark mage whose summoned creature was a zombie. However, that dark mage's zombie was nothing compared to Zhao Hai's. This zombie looked almost human, if not for its stiff expression and unmoving eyes.

Xu Wanying suddenly realized why Zhao Hai had wanted him to see these zombies. These zombies were almost like humans, and there would definitely be no issues with loyalty; they wouldn't slack off either. Zhao Hai was implying that if Xu Wanying dared to be lazy, he would be turned into a zombie.

Thinking of this, Xu Wanying couldn't help but feel a chill. He looked at the zombies and then at Zhao Hai, who had already entered the room. Xu Wanying couldn't help but shiver, not daring to entertain any thoughts, and quietly walked behind Zhao Hai, standing there obediently, even more compliant than the undead beings.

Zhao Hai noticed Xu Wanying's actions and smiled slightly, saying nothing. He just turned to Laika and asked, "Laika, who do you serve?"
