When Zhao Hai arrived at the foot of Three Saint City, he realized just how magnificent this city was. It was a city that could easily rival the great cities of the human race. The walls of the city were all built from stone, and the bonding material between the stones was neither cement nor ordinary clay, but a type of blood-red earth that still carried a strong bloody scent.
The city walls were over twenty zhang high, with the city gate being more than twenty meters wide and over ten meters tall. The gate was square and constructed from bones, looking fierce and terrifying.
Zhao Hai felt that the total length of the city wall must exceed ten thousand meters, but he could not perceive its entire length at the moment. Strangely, there was only this one city gate on such a long wall, and he saw no signs of any vehicles having passed through, indicating that there were probably few vehicles in this area of the Underworld.
Standing at the city gate were two rows of skeleton warriors, all of them silver skeletons, holding long spears. They did not wear any armor, but their towering skeleton frames and gleaming weapons were enough to intimidate.
Zhao Hai curiously glanced at the skeletons. Although he had long sensed their presence with his spiritual energy, he still preferred to take a good look at them with his eyes.
The skeletons stood motionless like statues. After a brief glance, Zhao Hai stopped looking and began to sense the situation inside the city with his spiritual energy.
Upon sensing the city, Zhao Hai was taken aback. He had imagined that in the Underworld, there would be very few houses for the undead beings since they were not afraid of cold or heat, and the absence of houses would not affect them in any significant way.
However, to Zhao Hai's surprise, Three Saint City not only had houses, but many of them. With a sweep of his spiritual energy across the city, he almost thought he was in a human city, as the design was quite good, the layout was very orderly, the ground was paved with stone slabs, and there were numerous houses and straight streets. In the eastern part of the city stood three tall towers, each about a hundred meters high. The three towers formed a triangle, overlooking everything in Three Saint City.
If it were only these sights, the city would appear almost identical to an ordinary human city.
However, when he observed the moving entities in the city, his thoughts changed. There were no normal humans here; the majority were skeletons, zombies, dark magical beasts, and liches. Occasionally, one could also see vampires with pale faces, dressed in formal attire, walking by.
This was entirely a city composed of undead and dark beings. Initially, Zhao Hai had not noticed, but after a tour with his spiritual energy, he realized that nearly all the houses had different undead patterns carved on them. Coupled with the pervasive black mist, the entire city exuded an atmosphere similar to that of the Ghostly Qi Forest, akin to the nine hells of the Underworld.
Yet, the undead and dark beings in the city all bowed respectfully as they saw Zhao Hai and his team approach.
In the Underworld, there were strict hierarchies among undead beings. Those at the apex, like Guli and his companions, would be saluted by lower-ranked undead beings upon encounter. Of course, if the undead belonged to a different faction, they would not pay respect and might even attack.
However, within Three Saint City, Guli and the others were the true rulers. If any undead being dared to offend Guli and his group, they would soon find their spiritual soul fire extracted and used as food. That was just how tyrannical it was.
Guli and his team slowly made their way toward the three tall towers, the highest structures in the city, which were also where Guli and his companions would rest.
Soon, they arrived at the towers. Zhao Hai exited the vehicle and directly entered the tower that was previously dedicated to Campra. He also summoned Campra, as there were quite a few liches residing in this tower—Campra's subordinates—left here to oversee Three Saint City. If Zhao Hai did not release Campra, those liches might attack him, which would be quite troublesome.
