Chapter 534: Reacquisition of the Blessing: Part Two ✨

Published: September 6, 2025

“At the beginning of the ritual, when the supreme deity and the five great gods were called by name, all the attributes shone from the very start.”

Matthias, having completed the reacquisition of blessings, gripped the eavesdropping prevention magic tool and began to speak. Apparently, when the ritual started, before calling the names of his retainers, pillars of light of all attributes rose. It seemed the ceremony proceeded just as he had heard from Roderich.

“Originally, I was suited for fire, wind, and earth, so I didn’t expect all attributes to shine from the start.”

Most middle-ranking nobles possess two aptitudes, but Matthias has three. When he received his name, people were surprised to see his name stones were three-colored. Since his grandmother was an upper-class attendant who came to Ehrenfest from Arensbach with Gabriele, her influence was strong. Even though he possessed nearly upper-class strength, he felt constrained under the Reizegang, and had many thoughts about Gibe Gerlach.

“…Personally, I thought reacquisition could be done at the noble academy during graduation, but the fact that everyone in the name-offering group had to reacquire — is that the reason why Lady Rosemine has all attributes?”

“Yes, most likely. Since that was the case with Roderich, I wanted to confirm it. After this, I plan to have Muliera change her name offering and perform the ritual again to obtain confirmation.”

Matthias murmured, “Changing the name offering is a big task.” Indeed, the burden on Muliera would be heavy, but she was the only one granted exceptional permission for such a change. Whether a patron’s attributes change depending on the master greatly affects the children in orphanages and nurseries.

“Roderich said he felt small positive changes like better success rates in alchemy after offering his name to me, but Matthias, how about you?”

“Looking back now, I’d say only in alchemy involving attributes I wasn’t suited for…”

It seems the influence of attributes gained through name offering isn’t very large. Those like Roderich, a lower-middle noble, feel the benefit more strongly, but for someone like Matthias, a middle noble close to the upper class with many aptitudes and abundant mana, a slight bonus is hardly noticeable.

“By the way, Matthias, did you receive blessings from your retainers?”

Roderich had confirmed he gained all attributes from the name offering but did not gain new retainers. What about Matthias? He smiled a little shyly at my question.

“I received the blessings of the god of valor, Angrief, and the god of exorcism, Fairdreos.”

While talking with Matthias, Grethia noticed Fran at the door. After hearing Fran’s message, Grethia returned and informed us that the fourth bell had rung.

“Fran says to start preparing lunch, so please come out of the workshop once you finish your conversation.”

After finishing my talk with Matthias and stepping out of the workshop, I saw Laurenz and Muliera just returning from the chapel.

“Since the fourth bell rang while I was drinking a healing potion after the ritual, Muliera postponed hers until the afternoon.”

“Understood. I’ll hear Laurenz’s results in the workshop this afternoon. The ritual will start with Muliera, followed by Grethia, so please have Filine guide them.”

While Fran and Monica prepared the meal, we discussed the afternoon’s schedule. Suddenly, Ordnance flew in, landing in front of me, opening its beak.

“This is Leonore. Lord Bonifatius said he would go to the temple together with Lady Elvira.”

…O-our grandfather!?

Leonore apologized in a slightly troubled voice, “I’m sorry. Lord Bonifatius thought it a good opportunity to visit the temple.” It seemed he thought this was a perfect chance to erase the temple’s negative bias among nobles, especially since the reacquisition ritual has obvious benefits for them.

I had said I wanted Angelica to brag about it, but I didn’t expect such a quick reaction. Since mother is here, preparing sweets and tea isn’t a problem, but mentally, I’m not ready.
