Transcending the Nine Heavens

Chapter 981: Ling Hanwu ❄️

Published: March 8, 2025

Chu Yang felt a headache coming on.

When did his brother gain such a nickname?

The title of rogue slayer was somewhat bearable, but what was up with the color demon killer? Am I a color demon... or a killer of color demons?

As he stood still, he suddenly felt a chilling aura descending like a wave from behind.

A hundred or so people approached silently, clad in white like snow, their swords glistening like silver.

Chu Yang's pupils contracted.

Without needing to say a word, just their presence sent a shiver down his spine! Moreover, every single one of them was a master!

The lowest among them were lord-level experts!

There were quite a few saint level experts as well.

In the middle of the group walked several individuals who looked young, but each step they took felt as if the entire heavens and earth were shifting along with them!

This was the realm of merging with the void!

Supreme!

Among them, the two in the lead, a man and a woman, had striking appearances—the man was handsome and upright, while the woman was like ice and snow, breathtakingly beautiful.

The man’s face carried an inexplicable sorrow, while the woman seemed as if she would never smile, projecting an air that kept others at a distance.

And surprisingly, this woman was someone Chu Yang recognized.

Ling Family!

Ling Hanxue!

It seemed these people were from the Ling Family, one of the nine great sovereign clans of the Nine Heavens.

Zixie Qing was also observing these individuals. Looking at the man in the lead, she transmitted her thoughts in admiration: “This man appears to be under fifty years old, yet he has already reached saint level seventh grade! Although there are traces of forcibly borrowing medicine to enhance his abilities, to achieve such a level at this age is incredibly rare! He can be considered a true genius!”

Chu Yang was taken aback: “Is he really that high?”

“I would never misjudge,” Zixie Qing replied calmly. “This woman is only in her twenties! Yet she has already reached saint level one! Her talent and root bone are not inferior to that man’s. But it’s unfortunate that she practices a heart-sealing technique! This kind of skill allows for rapid progress in cultivation, but once one becomes emotionally attached, it leads to irreversible calamity! How could such a beautiful young woman practice such a technique?”

Chu Yang's heart trembled.

He remembered how, back at Desperate Lake, Ling Hanxue had that indifferent demeanor, as if she cared for nothing, and how there was a moment when her eyes held a deep pain.

“If one’s heart isn’t like dead ashes, who would seal their heart and cut off emotions?” Chu Yang sighed.

Zixie Qing murmured, “Well said. If one’s heart is not like dead ashes, completely devoid of hope, who would seal their heart and cut off emotions?” She asked herself: Am I someone who has sealed their heart and cut off emotions?

As they spoke, those individuals had already come closer.

The first among them, a middle-aged man with an elegant demeanor, smiled and said, “This should be Young Master Chu, who has been slaying his way through upholding heaven's will?”

Ling Hanxue, standing to the side, shot a cold glance at Chu Yang and said, somewhat surprised, “It’s you!”

She had seen Chu Yang at Desperate Lake. Unexpectedly, they met again here.

“I am indeed of the Chu family,” Chu Yang replied with a smile. “Miss Ling, it’s nice to see you again.”

Ling Hanxue said coolly, “I remember your name is Chu Yang. Weren’t you in the middle three days? How did you get to the upper three days? After that great battle, the Nine Heavens were sealed off... How did you ascend?”

Although her tone was inquiring, it still felt as cold as ice, lacking warmth.

Chu Yang knew her temperament but still felt a bit displeased and said, “Miss Ling must be mistaken; over half a month passed after that great battle before the upper three days were sealed off.”

Ling Hanxue reacted, “Oh, then you must have entered within this half a month. I assumed too much.”
