Chapter 95: By Emerald Lake
Since the matter at Butian Pavilion concluded, I exited the secret passage and rushed to the Crown Prince's Residence at the fastest speed possible. I conveyed all the necessary information in the shortest time and then returned at my peak speed. The entire process took less than a quarter of an hour!
But Chu Yang already knew everything and was even waiting for me here. Even if Tie Butian had notified Chu Yang, it wouldn't have been this fast!
Cheng Ziang suddenly realized that the thoughts of this young man before him ran deep like the ocean. Before him, no one could hide!
This time, although he said nothing, it was clear he was here to give me a warning.
Your movements are all in my grasp. Don't entertain any crooked ideas, or you will regret it!
That was the message he conveyed.
Watching that figure leave with an air of indifference, Cheng Ziang let out a deep sigh.
Chu Yang walked in the night breeze, feeling quite refreshed. He had been keeping an eye on Cheng Ziang, as he was one hundred percent certain that Cheng Ziang was Tie Butian's representative at Butian Pavilion.
Cheng Ziang might be a skilled individual, but he was definitely not a qualified leader! The reason he became the pavilion master before my arrival was first because his strength was the highest among those present, and second, because he was reliable!
Otherwise, Tie Butian would never have allowed an outsider to become the pavilion master, and the initiator, Tie Butian, didn’t even hold any leadership position in Butian Pavilion, not even a nominal one.
That was because Tie Butian trusted Cheng Ziang.
Chu Yang absolutely did not believe that Tie Butian would let Butian Pavilion be so loose. Therefore, after the matter concluded, when Cheng Ziang went missing, Chu Yang knew he must have rushed to report to Tie Butian.
After all, such a significant change of power in Butian Pavilion had to be reported to Tie Butian immediately!
So Chu Yang had snuck into Cheng Ziang's room to wait.
This feeling was not pleasant; Chu Yang wanted complete control, and having an informant by his side was simply too uncomfortable. But directly getting rid of him was obviously impossible, so Chu Yang needed to minimize this feeling and its impact!
You are a person of the crown prince, fine! But here, if you’re a dragon, you must coil, and if you’re a tiger, you must lie low! If I don’t agree, don’t even think about stirring up any waves!
Don’t think that just because you are the crown prince’s most trusted person it means anything; as long as I take charge, this is my territory!
Chu Yang snorted twice, letting out a sinister laugh, which echoed into the night wind. A nearby household, which had a crying baby, suddenly fell silent…
By the time he reached Emerald Lake, even with Chu Yang's exceptional self-control, he was shocked and left speechless by what he saw!
The walls, resembling city walls, were already taking shape. The originally tranquil and elegant Emerald Lake was now bustling with activity despite it being late at night.
Furthermore, there were many burly men wielding whips supervising; on the pavilion at the center island, Gu Duxing stood with his arms crossed, his gaze icy, scanning the surroundings like knives, unwavering.
He stood there motionless, yet the entire Emerald Lake seemed to have entered a chilling autumn.
Below in the pavilion, there was a chaotic scene. Upon closer inspection, it turned out that dozens of bodies had been thrown there; they were not dead, but also barely alive, each groaning feebly, yet none dared to utter a word of complaint.
One man groaned a little louder, causing Gu Duxing to frown. He coldly uttered, “Noisy!” With a bang, a piece of tile fell from above and landed precisely on the leg of this unfortunate fellow, who had a broken leg, producing a sharp intake of breath filled with excruciating pain that he couldn't vocalize…
Everyone around shivered in response.
Chu Yang, increasingly confused, walked closer and suddenly slapped his forehead: It's my fault! I didn’t make it clear to Gu Duxing that occupying just the central island would suffice, and this guy ended up taking the entire Emerald Lake!
