Chapter 148: Amethyst Hand
Chu Yang exerted force with his foot, causing the First Blood Reward to scream like a slaughtered pig. He then casually asked, "So do you think you owe me now?"
Wei Wuyan, shaken by Chu Yang's earlier action, had tears and snot all over his face, and he sniffled, "I owe you!"
Chu Yang pressed down with his foot again and asked, "Then how do you plan to repay me? My dear Wei brother, who has never owed anyone anything in his life?"
Wei Wuyan felt pain in his body, spirit, and soul, and replied, "How can I repay you... Oww~~"
Before he could finish, another jab to his waist left him gasping for breath, his eyes rolling back in his head, unable to speak.
Chu Yang grinned wickedly, "I've often heard it said that a life-saving grace can only be repaid by offering oneself..."
Wei Wuyan coughed, "I can't do that..."
Chu Yang said, "Then you can work for me like a beast of burden."
Wei Wuyan sighed, "Well, that's not wrong. It seems I can only do that..."
Chu Yang was surprised, "Do you really want to work for me like a beast?"
Wei Wuyan sighed deeply, "Damn... Besides that, I have no other way to repay you..."
Chu Yang replied, "You could use the Amethyst you've earned over the years to settle the debt. You must have at least hundreds of thousands, right?"
Wei Wuyan's face turned pale: "I don't have a single piece of Amethyst now."
Chu Yang was taken aback, "After all these years of Blood Rewards and completing so many tasks, where did all the Amethyst go?"
Wei Wuyan sighed heavily, looking extremely pained, as if he had an unspeakable secret. Chu Yang's gaze flickered, and he decided not to press further.
Chu Yang twisted his foot a couple more times and used the Nine Heavens Divine Skill to force the vitality spring water into Wei Wuyan's lumbar region. He then moved his foot away: "Try again."
Following the suggestion, Wei Wuyan circulated his energy and was pleasantly surprised to find that the spiritual energy had indeed passed through his waist meridians. However, the pain was doubled; still, Wei Wuyan couldn't care less about the pain.
As long as he felt something, there was hope!
He tried to move and said, "But I still can't stand up."
Chu Yang nodded, "If you could stand up right now, that would truly be a miracle. For today, you don’t have to do anything. Just repeatedly circulate your energy through your waist meridians. Restore vitality there and digest the medicine from the vitality spring as quickly as possible. Tomorrow morning, I will prepare medicine for you, and you should be able to stand then. It's not feasible to prepare it now; the medicine's potency is too concentrated for you to bear."
Wei Wuyan nodded, "Alright."
There were no words that night. The next day, Chu Yang and Chu Le'er emerged from the tent to find Wei Wuyan still lying stiffly, surrounded by a misty white fog that wouldn’t disperse.
Chu Yang looked at the fog and nodded.
Wei Wuyan had absorbed pure Yang energy during the day and pure Yin energy at night, and now they were nearing fusion. This was greatly beneficial for his injuries.
When the sun rose and sunlight shone on Wei Wuyan, he simultaneously concluded his circulation.
Chu Yang approached with a bowl of dark medicine: "Drink this."
Wei Wuyan didn’t even look and took the bowl, gulping it down...
Inside the medicine was an incomplete version of the ninefold pill that Chu Yang had melted into it!
Half an hour after drinking it, Wei Wuyan abruptly felt his lumbar spine begin to integrate... He forcibly endured the tingling pain that felt like a swarm of ants gnawing at his soul, biting his lip and remaining silent.
An hour later, Wei Wuyan suddenly frowned and opened his mouth, letting out a stream of blood-colored gas that sprayed out ten feet away.
Then, his body shifted slightly.
Chu Yang stepped in front of him and extended his hand; Wei Wuyan resolutely shook his head, propped himself up with one hand, and slowly sat up.
After taking several deep breaths, Wei Wuyan used both hands to support his lower back, retracted his right foot, pressed against the ground, and with effort, finally stood up.
