Chapter 131: No Debt to Anyone? I Won't Let You Off the Hook!

The roasted rabbit was finally taken down from the fire, and both the man and Chu Le'er gazed at it with longing eyes, their mouths watering. The two of them, one big and one small, began to rub their hands together, their four eyes fixated on the sizzling roasted rabbit.

This was the best part.

Moreover, it seemed that Chu Yang had put the most effort into roasting it.

Without waiting for Chu Yang to give instructions, the man had already busied himself preparing a stone as a dining table: with a swift stroke of his hand, he shaved off the top half of the stone, making it smooth as a mirror. Then he wiped it clean with his sleeve—goodness, it could be used as a mirror, so clean that even a fly standing on it would slip off: it was that smooth.

Chu Yang placed the roasted rabbit on the stone table and said, “Don’t touch it.”

Then he slowly stood up and walked into the cart to fetch a jar of wine.

Just as he was about to turn around, he suddenly heard a commotion behind him.

“Don’t touch it!” Chu Le'er shouted sharply, “It’s mine!”

When Chu Yang turned back, he saw Chu Le'er standing with her arms outstretched in front of the roasted rabbit, her big eyes wide open and angrily glaring at the man in black opposite her, looking rather fierce.

It was evident that the man in black was awkwardly retracting his right hand, clearly reluctant and hesitating, swallowing hard as he said, “But there are two hind legs…”

The implication was: one for each of us.

“No way!” Chu Le'er exclaimed loudly, “The other one belongs to my big brother!”

The man in black’s face fell immediately, and his gaze towards Chu Le'er turned somewhat pleading.

Chu Le'er declared righteously, “No matter how pitiful you look, it won't work! No matter how pathetic you seem to me, it doesn’t help! There are only two hind legs and there are three of us!”

Chu Yang laughed heartily and walked back.

The man in black sulkily retracted his hand and said, “Your sister is really fierce…”

Chu Le'er snorted and turned her face away.

“My sister… as long as you don’t compete with her for food, she’s more good-tempered than anyone,” Chu Yang laughed.

This statement clearly took sides, and the man in black was quite displeased, thinking: What do you mean not competing for food during meals, what else should I compete for? But he quickly dismissed his displeasure as his eyes brightened: “Is there wine?”

“Good wine,” Chu Yang said with a self-satisfied smile, slapping the mud seal off, instantly releasing a rich aroma of wine.

The man in black narrowed his eyes, deeply inhaling the fragrance and exclaiming, “Good wine…” as if he had already taken a sip.

Chu Yang chuckled to himself, this wine was crafted by the Sword Spirit, infused with a small amount of vitality spring water; how could it be anything less than excellent?

After setting down the jar, he took out three cups and poured three glasses.

The man in black stopped him: “Your sister is clearly unwell; why are you letting her drink wine?”

Chu Yang was somewhat surprised: this guy has good eyesight, able to tell that Le'er is sick? But he still missed the point, not realizing that the power of the wine would be beneficial to Le'er’s health…

He said calmly, “Other wines might not work, but this wine is fine for her to drink one cup; it’s even beneficial.” He thought to himself, this person isn’t bad at heart.

Washing his hands with the wine, the liquid flowed down, the fragrance becoming almost palpable. The man in black grimaced in pain, his expression almost grotesque as he moaned, “Such good wine… and you’re using it to wash your hands?”

Chu Yang rolled his eyes and said, “If I don’t wash my hands, do you dare to eat the rabbit leg I just tore off?”

The man in black replied, “But you shouldn’t use such good wine!”

Ignoring him, Chu Yang took the roasted rabbit, and with a sharp sound, tore off one of the hind legs. Under the ravenous gaze of the man in black, he handed it to Chu Le'er.
