CHAPTER 67: Are You Still Human?
A generation of sword sects could be pushed to such a point by worldly gold and silver, yet they wouldn't resort to stealing or robbing... Although Chu Yang felt a bit disdainful and did not quite agree with this approach, he couldn't help but admire this guy's persistence.
"Gu... Duxing, right?" Chu Yang smiled, putting on an inscrutable expression. He pointed at the long and short weapons hanging on the wall: "Why don’t you take a look and see how my swords compare to yours?"
As he spoke, Chu Yang stood up tall, taking down a sword and a curved blade from the wall, placing them in front of Gu Duxing.
Gu Duxing was taken aback, a look of disdain appearing on his face. He squinted and said, "Your swords, from their outward appearance, are all new and unused. Clearly just forged. The sword sheath shines with a lustrous color, although it has some cloud patterns, it’s obviously made of ordinary steel. It’s not worth much."
This guy really was straightforward.
"These kinds of weapons are just mass-produced goods; they’re good enough for killing chickens at best, at most, they can only fool those who don't know better..." Gu Duxing said, reaching for the sheathed long sword. Truly, as a member of the sword sect, he didn’t even glance at the curved blade.
Once he held the sword, Gu Duxing suddenly exclaimed, "Huh?" The disdain on his face vanished in an instant, replaced by intense surprise.
"This sword... something's off..." Gu Duxing mumbled, inwardly shocked. This sword was even heavier than his own!
Chu Yang chuckled, stood up, and walked into the inner room. He figured this guy was hungry, so he might as well prepare something to eat. Chu Yang felt completely at ease leaving his swords with Gu Duxing. This guy would rather starve than steal or pawn his beloved sword... If he didn’t trust him, who else could he trust?
Even if Diwu Qingrou stole his sword and ran away, Chu Yang wouldn’t be surprised; but if Gu Duxing were to steal his sword and flee... wouldn’t that be too ridiculous?
After a while, he returned with food, only to see Gu Duxing sitting at the table, still wide-eyed and frozen in shock. Despite being incredibly hungry, he remained indifferent to the food Chu Yang had brought out, simply staring at the sword in his hand, murmuring, "How is this possible? How is this possible? A sword that hasn’t been nourished with human blood, how can it be so sharp?"
"What’s impossible?" Chu Yang held a thick iron bar in his hand. He grabbed the sword from Gu Duxing and began shaving the iron bar as if he were peeling an apple.
With a soft sound, a thin slice was shaved off the iron bar; Gu Duxing’s eyes widened. He could tell that Chu Yang was definitely not using any martial power.
This was purely due to the sword’s inherent sharpness!
Another slice came off.
And another...
Half of the iron bar was shaved away, and the ground was covered with dark, shiny shavings.
Gu Duxing felt like he was going to collapse.
Having fallen out with his family and with other reasons, he had sneaked out in a hurry but forgot to bring money. Along the way, he had pawned most of what he owned.
Moreover, as a man, he didn’t carry trinkets like a woman, just a jade pendant and a few golden pearls acting as concealed weapons.
Yet, each time he entered a pawn shop, he became thoroughly annoyed with those people. His jade pendant and golden pearls were described as "shabby jade pendant" and "shabby golden pearls"...
Was there really such a thing as shabby?
Thus, even though Gu Duxing had gone without food for two days, he resolutely refused to go to a pawn shop. What a noble sword his Black Dragon was! If those bird-brain pawnbrokers called it a "shabby sword" again, he would probably be unable to hold back from drawing his sword and killing someone!
That’s why he had searched all this way, and after hearing the insane legends about the "Heavenly Weapon Pavilion," he had tentatively found his way here.
Seeing the three characters "Heavenly Weapon Pavilion," he suddenly felt very comfortable. The Heavenly Weapon Pavilion... wasn’t his Black Dragon a heavenly soldier? Besides the term "heavenly soldier," there were truly no other words that could match his Black Dragon!
