Chapter 64: The Mysterious Young Man
That night, Chu Yang was somewhat puzzled. On the first day of opening, the Heavenly Weapon Pavilion's flamboyance had already attracted too many onlookers, including numerous martial artists. Among them, many were elegantly dressed with proud expressions, likely from some prestigious family in the city.
Why could these people suppress their curiosity and not come in to take a look?
One must understand that possessing a divine weapon could at least elevate one’s combat power by a notch. Whether walking the martial arts world or battling on the battlefield, it was a coveted treasure for survival!
Having a divine weapon that far surpasses ordinary quality in hand is akin to having an extra life!
Wasn't such allure enough?
Whether for noble families or the military, this kind of attraction should be more than sufficient, right?
Chu Yang was baffled. What was going on? To his knowledge, the situation in Iron Cloud Nation should lead people to swarm in as soon as they heard the news, regardless of their morals. Yet, how could it be so strangely ignored? Had he remembered wrongly?
The next day, there were still onlookers. However, it was even quieter than the first day; not a single person entered. On the first day, there was at least a ruffian causing trouble...
On the third day, even the onlookers had dwindled. Chu Yang couldn't help but feel frustrated. Whether they were buying or not was one thing, but at least a few people should come in to take a look, right? The entire city had millions of residents, yet no one seemed curious? What was going on?
That night of the third day, there was finally some movement.
Chu Yang was engrossed in the immortal healing technique gifted by Du Shiqing. As he opened the cover page, a line of preface caught his eye: "In this world, who can escape death? No one. Therefore, a healer can only treat diseases that do not lead to death. But what constitutes a disease that does not lead to death? I quietly believe that any harm or pain caused by external forces or beyond the body belongs to the category of incurable diseases."
A disease leading to certain death is the decree of Heaven...
Chu Yang's spirits lifted. The meaning was very clear: as long as one wasn’t old to the point of being at death's door, any injury or ailment could be treated. Of course, this was merely theoretical. Yet, even as a theory, the tone was exceedingly bold.
Knock, knock...
There was a knock at the door.
Chu Yang, who was enjoying the reading, impatiently asked, “Who is it?”
“I have heard that divine weapons are for sale here, and I have come to visit,” came a weary voice from outside.
Chu Yang's heart stirred; although the voice was tired, it carried a tone of arrogance, as if looking down on everyone. Only someone who had long held a high position would speak with such an air.
Moreover, this voice sounded very young.
Putting away the book and opening the door, he saw a brocade-clad young man standing before him, his expression calm yet fatigued. However, amidst his calmness, there seemed to be an inexpressible light sorrow lingering between his brows. Upon seeing Chu Yang open the door, he showed no unusual expression.
Although he wore luxurious clothing, the hems were covered in dust, as if he had been on a long journey without rest. How could someone who spoke so arrogantly appear so disheveled?
At the moment Chu Yang opened the door, a sudden gurgling sound erupted from the young man's stomach, as if he was extremely hungry. Yet, the young man showed not the slightest embarrassment on his face...
The lamp was lit, casting a faint light.
“Please sit.” From the demeanor of the visitor, Chu Yang could tell that this young man was certainly not from an ordinary family; he must be from a prominent household.
Because such an air of authority was not something a typical official family would possess.
While wealthy families might easily produce wayward sons, they were also the most likely to yield talented individuals, as their starting point is much higher than that of grassroots heroes.
