CHAPTER 16: Master Ji Er Makes His Entrance! [Fifth Update! Four Thousand Words!]
“Uh, gamble?” Young Master Wei tilted his head, looking at Chu Yang. He couldn't help but mutter in his heart, if it were anyone else, he would definitely bet without hesitation.
But now, standing in front of him was Chu Yang. Young Master Wei was already wary of this guy's ghostly and unpredictable methods.
After pondering for a moment with flickering eyes, he finally felt a bit confident. Even if Ji Mo had exceptionally strong techniques or Chu Yang had exquisite swordplay that could leave Gao Sheng in a fluster, victory didn’t necessarily mean he could really leapfrog.
He asked, “What do you want to bet?”
The Sword Spirit urgently reminded him in his consciousness: “White Crystal! Bet his White Crystal! Right now, Nine Calamity Sword needs not a higher-level Amethyst, but White Crystal.”
Chu Yang chuckled and understood, asking, “How much White Crystal do you have?”
Young Master Wei's eyes flashed, and he replied unhappily, “Are you eyeing my White Crystal? How greedy can you be to ask how much I have!”
“You have how much, I’ll bet how much.” Chu Yang was quite calm. His wealth was substantial now; in the Nine Calamity Space, there were two rare herbs, Jade Snow Spiritual Ginseng, and mountains of Mysterious Jade Ice Crystal and Mysterious Sun Jade. Any one of these was a world-rare treasure! When it came to gambling, he truly wasn’t afraid of anyone.
“I don’t have much White Crystal either.” Young Master Wei looked at him playfully, “But I have a few tens of thousands; plus, there’s a White Crystal Mine. You want it all? What will you bet with?”
The Sword Spirit quickly calculated in his mind, his face lighting up. Tens of thousands, a White Crystal Mine! This... this would be a fortune! If Nine Calamity Sword absorbed all of these, it could elevate to a whole new level!
“One piece of Mysterious Jade Ice Crystal, one piece of Mysterious Sun Jade.” The Sword Spirit offered the bid: “Both are about the size of a fist.”
Chu Yang nearly fainted.
You want to bet an entire White Crystal Mine for just one piece of Mysterious Jade Ice Crystal and one piece of Mysterious Sun Jade?
“Don’t worry, just say it.” The Sword Spirit was full of confidence: “Young Master Wei is probably cultivating the Shadow Line; although these two pieces of jade aren’t worth that much, he will definitely gamble! Because this is what he needs most at the moment. To him, White Crystal is merely a burden.”
“What will you bet against me?” Young Master Wei looked at Chu Yang with a playful smile, finding it amusing that he was doing such a thing of using wealth to crush others. However… seeing this kid speechless, Young Master Wei actually felt a sense of accomplishment.
“The only thing I treasure is this.” Chu Yang sighed: “If you’re satisfied, then let’s bet; if not… then just consider I didn’t say anything.”
Chu Yang reached into his bosom and dejectedly said, “Just these two pieces… is all I have.”
While Young Master Wei was gloating over his success, he suddenly widened his eyes in shock when he saw what Chu Yang took out.
In Chu Yang’s palm, two fist-sized jades were stacked together, one on top, emitting a faint chill, while the one below radiated a light warmth.
One hot, one cold, one yin, one yang; it seemed as if an absolutely balanced cycle was formed instantly in Chu Yang’s hands. A white mist of warmth rose, lingering just three feet above his palm, not dispersing.
“Mysterious Jade Ice Crystal… Mysterious Sun Jade…” Young Master Wei’s eyes were glued to them; his throat moved up and down, swallowing something.
“Is this okay?” Chu Yang asked nervously: “I know it’s a bit lacking… if you don’t want to gamble, I have no way to do so.”
“Not lacking at all! These are more than enough!” Young Master Wei said, completely forgetting himself: “Let’s gamble! Why not! A man’s word is his bond, once said it’s as good as a hundred horses! A single spit can dig a pit, a hero’s promise is worth a hundred deaths without regret…”
