CHAPTER 52: Dong Wushang vs. Li Xiong Tu!
In a nearly identical burst of hearty laughter, two similarly robust figures simultaneously swooshed down from the stands, one to the left and one to the right, landing in the center of the arena.
Though merely two individuals, they seemed insignificant in such a grand venue. However, the person on the left distinctly felt as though a great mountain was bearing down on him, while the one on the right sensed the earth trembling beneath him at that very moment!
Dong Wushang exuded an imposing aura, and Li Xiong Tu was gallant and unmatched! These two met in the first match, truly a case of chess pieces matching their opponents, brilliant talents about to clash!
Chu Yang’s heart stirred, his eyes widened.
Among the twelve future figures of great influence, these two exuded the most dominating aura, and they finally faced off here! Chu Yang had some expectations for this battle. From this fight, one could clearly see the developmental paths of the two since these future figures were already beginning to shape their lifelong achievements!
Just as he thought, Dong Wushang, in mid-air, suddenly let out a long howl, reaching back with his hand and unsheathing the Ink Blade with a clang! This action immediately stirred the crowd into a frenzy.
His robust figure, even while flying, gave an impression of being as immovable as a mountain. Though his right hand moved back slowly, everyone could clearly see what he was doing. Yet, it was this slow motion that made each step of drawing the blade exceptionally clear, meticulously following the procedure!
With his hand raised, pointing to the heavens, over his shoulder, gripping the blade—every single movement was perceptible, creating a dissonance in sight and sensation that was both uncomfortable yet profound.
And then came a dazzling, fearsome flash of the blade!
Following the momentum of drawing the sword, a ray of black light erupted, and Dong Wushang suddenly altered his descending trajectory, transforming into a black rainbow that surged through the sky, charging fiercely towards Li Xiong Tu!
He changed direction mid-air, and the speed of this leap was astonishingly faster than his previous descent! The blade light sliced through the air like a Black Dragon, producing a series of thunderous sounds! His garments whooshed through the air, creating a loud clamor!
At that very moment, Li Xiong Tu reacted. With a shout, he rolled his body, and a bright sword light suddenly appeared. The sword energy expanded, thick as a barrel and radiating a dazzling brilliance, resembling a shooting star in the sky, also changing direction mid-air, charging furiously towards Dong Wushang!
The two had unwittingly adopted the same strategy: the first strike would be a thunderous assault, delivering a heavy blow to the opponent!
Chu Yang's gaze sharpened; he sighed in relief and softly said, “In this match, Wushang will win.” Gu Duxing and Ji Mo turned to look at him simultaneously.
The two figures in the arena rapidly closed the distance.
They had reached the height above the arena!
Dong Wushang's eyes flashed with intense battle intent as he bellowed, “Slash!” His voice echoed like thunder, the blade fell with the ferocity to sever mountains!
Li Xiong Tu said nothing, rushing forward with determination. The sword light blazed!
“Boom!”
Their powerful bodies collided mid-air without any pretense. The sword and blade intersected, and like dancing butterflies, their limbs engaged in rapid movements, exchanging thirteen strikes, thirteen sword thrusts, and nine kicks in an instant!
With a loud explosion, a wave of air rolled outward! Dong Wushang let out a long howl, his black hair flying wildly, as he was forced back two somersaults. Li Xiong Tu grunted, his beard bristling, mirroring Dong Wushang's actions, rolling mid-air and retreating three yards!
As they both neared the ground, Dong Wushang pointed his Ink Blade downward. Just a hint of force at the tip propelled him upwards like a spring, the blade light transforming into a rainbow, shooting directly towards Li Xiong Tu.
