CHAPTER 45: This Departure Will Surely Turn the Nine Heavens Upside Down

In the next three days, Meng Chaoran provided Chu Yang with comprehensive training. In fact, the two lived in the same room during this time, and he had Chu Yang practice all the skills repeatedly. He tirelessly imparted his experiences from the martial arts world and the points to pay attention to into Chu Yang's mind.

Although Chu Yang was already aware of all this, he still enjoyed the feeling of being cared for by his master. So when Meng Chaoran spoke, he listened earnestly, savoring that moment of warmth.

This warmth was something he had missed in his previous life, but in this life, Chu Yang did not want to let it slip away. He knew that if he didn't pay attention, Meng Chaoran wouldn't say anything, but he would feel hurt inside.

Chu Yang didn't want to make his master feel bad.

The three days passed in the blink of an eye.

On this day, Chu Yang stepped out of the room and looked at the morning mist rising gently, taking a deep breath. His gaze lingered for a moment. Today, he would be leaving this place.

Once he left, he didn't know when he would return, or if he could return at all.

Last night, there had been a heavy rain, and the entire Purple Bamboo Garden was washed clean.

Meng Chaoran had said early in the morning that he was going up the mountain to collect herbs and left without a trace. Chu Yang understood that this was his master's reluctance to part, so he simply hid.

A scream suddenly came from the latrine. Soon after, Tan Tan rushed out, bringing a wave of overpowering stench with him, completely filthy.

Chu Yang was taken aback. Why was that guy still holding onto the Spirit-Absorbing Sacred Fish?

Tan Tan, with an embarrassed and gloomy face, rushed past him, immediately entering the room and with a loud thud, tossed the Spirit-Absorbing Sacred Fish into the fish tank.

Then he dashed out completely naked, grabbed a wooden bucket, and started pouring water over himself at the water basin. After several buckets, the stench finally faded a bit.

Chu Yang was initially feeling sentimental but was rendered confused by Tan Tan’s actions. What was this guy doing? Did he fall into a cesspit early in the morning?

Finally, Tan Tan had cleaned himself up, rushed back into the room, and without a moment’s delay, put on a piece of clothing. Then he bundled up his dirty clothes and threw them outside.

He then walked out with a bitter smile on his face, his expression contorted as he sighed deeply before he could even speak.

“What’s wrong?” Chu Yang squinted at him.

“Ah, don’t even mention it,” Tan Tan said, on the verge of tears.

It turned out that ever since he had acquired the Spirit-Absorbing Sacred Fish, he had been treating it like a treasure, raising it in the fish tank. He would occasionally feed it with food or aquatic plants. But after a day, the fish had flipped onto its back in the tank.

No matter how Tan Tan tried to provoke it, it showed no reaction, just floating there belly-up without any sign of life.

Today, when he scooped it up, he found its body was already stiff. With a sad sigh, he cradled the fish in his hands and happened to be heading to the latrine, so he thought, since it was already dead, he might as well throw it in there.

But after tossing the fish into the cesspit, the most unexpected thing happened: the fish actually started darting around in the filthy water, extremely lively…

Tan Tan was completely helpless and had no choice but to jump in and retrieve it. The most tragic part was… after the heavy rain last night, it was almost like Tan Tan had just gone swimming in the latrine… cough cough.

“Hahaha…” After hearing the story, Chu Yang doubled over, laughing so hard that he could hardly breathe.

He could never have imagined that this guy would create such a blunder.

Tan Tan sighed dramatically, his face full of despair as he cursed, “How was I to know what was wrong with that dead fish? It was just lying still in the fish tank like a corpse. Once I toss it into the latrine, it suddenly comes alive! Does this dead fish need to be in a stinky place to move?”
