Chapter 329: A Gentleman’s Word, A Swift Horse’s Whip!
After leaving the city, Chu Imperial Seat immediately changed his appearance and headed towards Jun Luolu's fleet. The long-planned identity of a musician was finally going to be useful…
The journey in Great Zhao was finally coming to an end…
Lotus Flower Lake was in sight.
Chu Yang moved like lightning, swiftly entering the willow grove by the shore. Suddenly, a light laugh sounded, and a crisp voice said, “Young master who caught the big fish, you’re back?”
Chu Yang was taken aback and turned to see a girl in white standing under the very willow tree he had leaned against before leaving. She was delicate and charming, with bright eyes that sparkled with mischief.
At first glance, she looked like an adorable little elf.
“Um? Young lady, it seems we haven’t met before. What brings you to me?” Chu Yang stopped and walked to a distance of about four paces from the girl.
“Hmph, I invited you to go, but you didn’t come, so I had to find you myself.” The girl in white wrinkled her cute little nose and said, “Besides… I’m just a flute player; you wouldn’t know even if I told you.”
“Ah, Di Jue. I have heard much about you!” Chu Yang nodded indifferently and said, “I didn’t expect the famous Di Jue to be such an adorable little girl.”
“How dare you!” The girl pouted playfully, shaking her white little fist as a show of defiance.
“What do you want? Just say it.” Chu Yang was quite impatient; as a fourth rank sword sovereign with formidable spiritual perception, he felt that the girl’s act was a bit childish.
She looked cute, but there was a hint of pretentiousness.
Perhaps this performance could charm most people in the martial arts world, but it was too naive for someone like Chu Yang, whose perception was sharp and keen.
“Hehe…” The girl giggled, tilting her head to look at him and asked, “Actually, I have no other meaning; I just want to ask… which faction are you from?”
“I’m not from any faction.” Chu Yang replied blandly.
“Oh? Then why did you disrupt Di Jue’s appearance?” The girl tilted her head, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
“Why does it concern you?” Chu Yang said unceremoniously, “If you keep using these childish tricks on me, I won’t say a word.” Did this girl even understand a bit of flirtation?
The girl was stunned, gazing at him with wide eyes. The innocent demeanor slowly faded, and her gaze gradually became calm and sharp.
Her face was still the same, and she was still the same person, without any change; but the feeling she gave off was completely different! It was as if a sheep had suddenly shed its wool and transformed into a solitary wolf.
“How did you see through me on our first meeting?” the girl asked.
Chu Yang shrugged, “Among today’s young ladies, there are no real ones left who are still so adorably naive at this age… unless they are mentally unstable lunatics. Di Jue, are you a lunatic?”
The girl was taken aback.
“State your true intentions!” Chu Yang said, somewhat impatient. If she hadn’t approached him right after he returned, he wouldn’t even bother with her.
“Of course, I’ll say, but first, I need to confirm if you are from Qin Jue’s faction.” The girl’s expression became serious, and the awkwardness of being exposed was completely gone in an instant: “Qin Jue brought fifty-six people this time, and I have information on each one.”
She stared intently at Chu Yang, “You are not among them. And you arrived here ten days before Qin Jue, so I consider that although you disrupted Di Jue’s appearance, you might not necessarily be from Qin Jue, right?”
“You’re quite clever; I’m not from Qin Jue!” Chu Yang responded straightforwardly.
“Good.” The girl, Di Jue, said coldly, “Moreover, your skills are high. Especially since I had someone catch that fish, and the hook and marks in its mouth clearly indicate only one possibility: it was caught underwater, and the hook was inserted.”
