CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED SIXTY-NINE: THE YOUNG MASTERS OF THE THREE HEAVENS

On the left side stood a young man slightly older than the other, his aura cold and sharp. A long sword hung at his waist, yet it did not feel cumbersome at all. It seemed as if the sword, its sheath, and the young man's body had melded into one. He appeared perfectly natural!

To the right was a younger individual, his expression indifferent and his eyes flat, as if he regarded the world with disdain. Yet, he emanated a striking presence that was impossible to ignore.

He carried an ancient sword sheath slung diagonally across his back, with only a section of the sword hilt visible over his shoulder. Strangely, the sword tassel was also white!

These two figures, dressed in elegant white, strode through the mud, utterly unbothered as they stepped onto the pristine white carpet. Two rows of muddy footprints boldly marked their passage. After walking for a dozen paces, they suddenly paused on the white carpet.

The two simultaneously raised their heads slightly, gazing at the ancient and elegant Sky-Connecting Tower, their expressions distant.

Du Facai, with a bulging belly, rushed over, bowing respectfully with both hands tightly pressed against his thighs, performing a ninety-degree bow; a feat that was quite challenging given his rotund shape! Remarkably, he managed to pull it off without fail.

“Young Master Chu, esteemed gentlemen, please! Please…” Du Facai's face was a mask of fawning smiles; if he had a tail, it would surely be wagging like a windmill.

“Brother, this Sky-Connecting Tower is quite well-prepared,” the younger young master remarked, a gentle smile gracing his lips as he glanced at the white carpet beneath him, expressing mild satisfaction.

“It's acceptable,” the older young master replied coldly, nodding. “The sensation underfoot is barely satisfactory.”

Du Facai's brow twitched; a bitter smile emerged in his heart: this priceless snow mink fur carpet was laid out in the mud, and all it earned him was a remark from the young master about the ‘satisfactory sensation underfoot’…

“Gentlemen, our humble establishment has prepared the finest guest rooms, all brand new. I invite you to come inside and rest; it is freezing outside…” Du Facai's face trembled with sincerity.

“This mere chill… Hmm, very well, lead the way,” the older young master said, hands clasped behind his back as he stepped forward. His white robes flowed, giving the impression that he barely touched the ground.

Upon arriving at the door, two rows of finely dressed men simultaneously bowed: “We welcome your esteemed presence!”

The two young masters nodded regally, their smiles warm. Their demeanor towards these lowly servants was far more amiable compared to how they acted with their peers from noble families.

Amidst their spring-like smiles, everyone in the two rows of men felt as if they had gained something in their hands. Looking down, they discovered two silver notes in each of their hands, each worth five hundred taels.

Two notes, not one.

This subtle gesture made these ceremonial men instantly warm up to the two young masters.

One silver note could be seen as a casual tip, but two notes of five hundred each signified respect, imbued with a blessing of ‘twinning’. The fact that everyone received two notes indicated that the two young masters had not forgotten about these low-status individuals. It had become their long-standing habit.

And the deeper this habit ran, the more respect and fondness they garnered. It came from the heart.

This was the hallmark of natural nobility!

Du Facai accompanied them eagerly, fearing any slight misstep. Throughout the journey, his back remained hunched, his head never lifted, and a radiant smile continuously bloomed on his face.

The two young masters entered the Sky-Connecting Tower under his attentive escort.

Mo Tianyun stood with his hands clasped behind his back, frowning as he murmured, “Who are these two?”

The sound of soft footsteps echoed through the corridor as the two esteemed guests reached the fifth floor. A faint chuckle from the younger master was heard: “Boss Du, you truly trouble yourself; you’ve thought of everything.”
