Chapter 1810: Strange Spirit Beast 🐉【Fifth Update!】

Published: March 9, 2025

This strange animal had another peculiar aspect: it was not confined in a cage but lay lazily on its side, basking in the sun. There were no ropes or chains around its neck...

In other words, this creature's harmless image had likely penetrated deep into people's hearts, and the reality was probably not far off.

Chu Yang walked up to it, squatted down, and observed it carefully.

Seeing a human approach, the strange animal lazily opened its eyes and met Chu Yang's gaze. To his surprise, there was a hint of disdain and contempt in the depths of its eyes. It was a mild scorn, seemingly fading away like the wind but undeniably present.

It felt like a divine being looking down on mortals, completely indifferent and dismissive.

As Chu Yang got closer, he noticed that this creature's fur was almost purple, exuding an air of grandeur.

"Sword Spirit, take a closer look. Do you recognize what kind of spirit beast this is?" Chu Yang asked, increasingly intrigued.

"Hmm? I truly haven't seen it before..." The Sword Spirit carefully identified it for a while but finally shook its head in disappointment. "Sword Master Lord, this... doesn't seem to be a spirit beast, just an ordinary wild animal..."

"Ordinary wild animal?" Chu Yang was taken aback. "No way! How could an ordinary wild animal be here? You must have made a mistake; it doesn't make sense!"

The strange animal let out a sudden grunt from its throat, rolled its eyes at Chu Yang, and then flipped over, lying on its back with its feet in the air, seemingly losing interest in Chu Yang completely and ignoring him.

In the next moment, one of its front paws reached out and scratched its belly contentedly.

This seemingly intentional yet indifferent action went beyond merely ignoring Chu Yang; it treated him as if he were just air.

Though this creature looked quite scruffy, its belly fur was startlingly white, spotless, and truly clean to the extreme.

Seeing this, Chu Yang's eyes lit up again. There must be something unusual about this peculiar species; even if it was a wild animal, it was still an extraordinary one!

He then put away the Purple Sky Pagoda and waved his hand, summoning the manager over.

"Buddy, what kind of spirit beast is this?" Chu Yang asked.

The manager looked at Chu Yang with an expression that barely suppressed laughter and said, "Sir, this is not a spirit beast..."

What a ridiculous situation; someone actually found this lazy creature appealing.

Today was full of surprises, starting with a rare animal behaving strangely, and then a fool mistaking a wild animal for a spirit beast, seemingly eager to buy it. It was all too fresh!

With so many spirit beasts around, why would he only be interested in an ordinary wild animal? If he wasn't just burning money, he was surely a complete fool!

Choosing a spirit beast, did he think it was like picking a pet?!

"You say this isn't a spirit beast?" Chu Yang frowned. "If it isn’t a spirit beast, why is it here?"

"Sir, let me explain. To be honest, I don't know the exact origin of this creature, but I heard from my predecessors that this wild animal came here on its own and wasn't caught by our hunting team. We don’t know when it arrived; it just seemed to appear out of nowhere. Since coming here, it has been very docile, eating when there's food, and not causing any trouble. Though it's quite large, it's very well-behaved. If it weren't completely harmless, do you think we would keep it here without any confinement?"

The manager's eyes twinkled. "However, sir, this creature is actually quite cute. If you plan to keep it as a pet, it would definitely be worth it, and it would look impressive when taken out."

It was rare for someone to show interest in this creature that no one wanted even for free, so how could he not boast about it? If he could really sell it, he might even recoup some feed costs.

Such a gullible customer was truly rare in the Nine Heavens Pavilion...

"Considering its size, it must be worth it. I like it. By the way, what species is it? A tiger? Or... something else? Since this creature is from your store, there must be some information about it, right?" Chu Yang asked with great interest.
