Chapter 167: Prison Break
But outside the door, the battle was going poorly for Iron Cloud's side. Three experts were up against five opponents, and their cultivation levels were far inferior, leaving them at a disadvantage almost immediately.
With a loud bang, one of the guards in Iron Cloud's uniform was struck in the chest and spat out a mouthful of blood, tumbling away like a ball. A man in black chased after him with a sinister grin, kicking him repeatedly but not killing him—only to cruelly toy with him. His screams echoed, laced with curses, but he was reduced to a helpless plaything.
The people inside, seeing the situation stabilize for a moment, finally sighed with relief, only to be enraged by the brutal scene before their eyes!
The middle-aged man in civilian clothes, while desperately fending off the enemy's attacks, shouted in anguish, “Commander Li! Under no circumstances should you open the door! They are deliberately trying to provoke you. If you open the door, you will give them a chance! Our brothers may die, but we cannot allow the prison to fall!”
His voice was fierce and resonated with emotion, and coupled with the blood splattering from him, it created a heart-wrenching scene!
Inside, several soldiers were filled with anger as they watched the horrifying battle outside, tears brimming in their eyes. One burly man suddenly turned away, punching the wall with a grunt, “Good men!”
At that moment, the sound of hooves echoed from three directions, as the well-disciplined Iron Cloud army finally arrived.
“Steady! Charge!” A sharp cry rang out, and the five men in black on the wall leapt into the air, raining arrows down upon the enemies. From the shadows emerged another figure, wrapped in brilliant sword light, spinning in mid-air and cutting down all the arrows. He shouted, “Get out of here! I’ll hold them off!”
The five men didn’t look back, leaping away and disappearing in a series of movements.
The five men outside also jumped into action, and one of them, as he was leaving, ruthlessly punched the middle-aged man, then kicked the fallen guard, sending him soaring through the air, crashing heavily onto the ground, blood spraying everywhere.
Then, the black-clad men let out a long howl and vanished like lightning from the scene.
The army closed in.
On the ground lay three bodies, reduced to mere sacks of flesh.
“Quick! Get them inside and see if they can be saved!” Commander Li shouted desperately, tears in his eyes.
Several soldiers hurriedly set down their soft sacks and carefully lifted the three unconscious men, whose blood continued to flow profusely... They finally reached the door, which opened just enough for two men to walk side by side. The soldiers carrying the stretcher shared a glance and moved inside.
At that moment, a sudden change occurred!
The three men on the stretcher suddenly sprang to life, striking like lightning. Six soldiers immediately had their throats sliced open, blood gushing as they collapsed.
One of the men suddenly slammed his palm against the already-opened iron door!
With a loud crash, the sound reverberated, so loud that it made the nearby soldiers bleed from their ears and their vision blur!
The three men rushed through the iron gate, attacking anyone they saw, like mad tigers.
“Quick! Quickly drop the thousand-pound barrier!” Commander Li shouted in regret and fury, realizing that the enemy was using such a self-inflicted injury strategy.
“Too late!” the brocade-clad middle-aged man laughed heartily, having charged out of the doorway and into the courtyard. He quickly drew a peculiar large knife from his waist and leapt into the air, ripping open a massive hole in the iron netting. The other two grabbed each side and, with all their strength, yanked it apart.
The iron net emitted a deafening sound as it tore apart, and swords flew out, covering a large area where soldiers were rushing in.
A sharp whistle rang out again as fifteen figures fell from the sky, dropping down through the broken iron net and landing in the courtyard!
