The choice between Law Sovereign and Ye Zui had an almost essential difference; it could be described as the difference between heaven and earth, which would not be an exaggeration!
After both made their choices, Law Sovereign closed his eyes to rest, carefully checking for any changes in his body, while Ye Zui was filled with frustration.
It was as if they had both chosen “a beautiful wife and lovely concubines, exquisite as clouds,” yet neither had chosen the option of ‘lifelong partner, life-and-death couple,’ as if they were in perfect accord.
With all choices completed, the game was nearing its end, but those inexplicable emotions still lingered in their hearts. Ye Zui was filled with ambition, while Law Sovereign was forcibly suppressing any doubts. Both were eagerly waiting for the Heavenly Demon Freak to announce the final results – what would the outcome be, and what benefits would it bring?
“Have you both made your choices?” The voice of the Heavenly Demon sounded like a cat that had spotted two mice that had swallowed rat poison, filled with a sense of cruelty.
“Chosen,” Law Sovereign frowned as he looked at the nine shining options before him and remarked, “I don’t feel at all that such a choice has any significance. What a boring game.”
“Is it really boring? In this illusionary realm, any choice you make can elicit corresponding feelings,” the freak laughed coldly. “Your cultivation level is relatively higher, so you should be sensing it more intensely. The reason you feel little impact now is that you are already in a high position, able to take what you want; you have experienced this feeling deeply, so you can temporarily suppress it.”
“But don’t worry, you will soon have a deeper experience. Human emotions are finite; the more you repress them, the more forcefully they will rebound.” The freak let out a strange laugh.
Ye Zui asked, “Is the game finished now? Can we reveal the final results?”
The Heavenly Demon Freak chuckled, “Finished? How can it be finished? We have only just begun!”
Just begun?
Law Sovereign and Ye Zui were both taken aback.
“Now, wait a moment. I’ll test this one first.” The freak turned his gaze and spoke to Law Sovereign.
Law Sovereign remained silent, but internally he was weighing his options.
This illusion was clever, but if it came to actually trapping him, it was still a bit lacking; if he truly wanted to leave, he was confident he could do so at any time. Instead, he was curious about what tricks this guy had up his sleeve. Suddenly, a mist swirled around him.
In the next moment, Law Sovereign keenly noticed that the surrounding sounds had vanished without a trace.
Sounds don’t just disappear for no reason; it was clear this guy had used some secret method to block out his hearing.
Law Sovereign smiled indifferently, not overly concerned. He chose to sit cross-legged and closed his eyes to rest.
This guy was still wary of him; he couldn't get close at all right now...

“Now the game officially begins,” the freak said to Ye Zui. “Kid, you chose nine options, hmm, and the first one is ‘to be unrivaled’? Not bad, not bad, a very good choice.”
Ye Zui scoffed, feeling a bit impatient.
He was clearly riding high at the moment, yet this guy was so annoying.
Suddenly, the black demonic energy around him surged unexpectedly, and Ye Zui found himself completely unable to move. There was also a clear, subtle feeling: any random movement could lead to his immediate demise!
This was a sensation of being infinitely close to death, and it was so clear!
Ye Zui panicked in an instant, barely able to stand, his legs trembling uncontrollably.
“Concentrate all your mental focus; you must follow my instructions completely. If you make any mistake or hesitate too long, you will die a horrible death!” the freak said ominously. “You chose nine items; now, immediately discard one! You can keep eight; if you don’t discard, you’ll die! Choose!”
Ye Zui was stunned.
